I switched from Canon to Nikon when the D300 came out. been happy ever since but no reason for you to switch if your happy with Canon. both are fine cameras. spend the money on better glass. you can upgrade the camera later.

I have this lens mated with my Nikon d500. I'm selling my Sigma 100-400 because I'm so happy with this lens.

I have been using Op/Tech straps for years and have never had a problem. I also have a BlackRapid strap but I prefer a neck strap. it's comfortable with my D500 w/grip and Sigma 150-600c.

of all the ways one can protest, why has it to be the f**g. they say it is not disrespectful to veterans. well, I am a wounded Viet Nam veteran and I feel they disrespect me every time they kneel, to say nothing about the thousands of those thru the years that did not return. it's been 50 years since I came home, but I will never forget how we were treated in our own country. I was never spit on, but it was funny that I couldn't find a job until I stopped listing my military service on job applications. I get thanked often now for my service, and it feels great. just wish it would have happened 50 years ago.

I love this place, but getting harder on us retired folk. it's a joke that it's free admission but 25.00 to park. not bad for a car load but pretty stiff for a single person. no discounts for seniors or veterans which I am both.

if you shoot insects, may I suggest the Sigma 150mm Macro. a little big and a little heavy, but a superb lens.

Not a hornet's nest I should think. I look at it as being each photographer's personal preference. For example, I shoot jpgs. Several Hugs have chastised me for doing so ("you should only shoot RAW") but for me, part of the fun of photography is the challenge of trying to get the SOOC to be exactly what I want the shot to be, just like when I shot film (only Slides). Almost unquestionably, every photo taken can be "improved" with some PP work. I know that, and I do "tweek" many of my shots in Nikon Capture or Photoshop. But only you know what you want to accomplish with your photography. Ansel Adams spent hours in the darkroom "burning-and-dodging." Most folks don't fault him for that.

I'm in the same boat. I have never shot raw and probably never will. don't know how and really don't care to learn. I'm pitiful with computers, but I know just enough of Elements to tweak my photo's. I was brought up with film and learned to get the shot right the first time. I am not a pro and do not sell my photo's. I just want something to hang on my wall. I have given my photo's to friends and family members and they don't seem to mind. of course they don't view photo's at 100%. I am not knocking raw shooters. I know the benefits of doing so. It's just not for me.

here are their offers for my equipment two weeks ago. like new Nikon d7200 with 5200 clicks. all accessories including original box, 275.00. three month old Sigma 100-400. 250.00. after a long laugh, I decided e-bay is still my best bet.

I try to sell here or e-bay. if you look to those stores that buy your used equipment, expect to be surprised how little you will be offered. yes, I know they have to make a profit, but sometimes it seems like they are out take advantage of you. won't say who, but I recently was offered 250.00 for a like brand new Sigma 100-400 lens. 275.00 for a flawless D7200 with 5200 clicks. I know I can get at least twice as much off e-bay. not knocking anyone. I usually buy from Adorama or B&H and have never had a problem. just realize you are not going to get what you think your gear is worth. I just sold the D7200 for 575.00 off e-bay.

I have six lenses for my D500 and only one is a Nikon lens. the others are Sigma and Tamron. no problems with any of them. probably one of the problems mentioned above.

I'll be interested to see the ratings. I think there were about 5 people who watched it. 4 of them will now boycott.
