You’re gonna need more weeks.

The outdoor sculpture garden near Pike Place Market (locals don’t call it anything else) in Seattle has some interesting pieces. A loop drive across Stevens Pass and then north to return across Hiway 20 will give you some good Mountain View’s and some pictures of the east side which is sometimes called the dry side. Check out the wineries around Lake Chelan and be sure to drive through Leavenworth. Chuckanut Drive north to Bellingham has some nice views of Puget Sound and the Olympics.

Then you should have no problem driving in the Isles. Actually the scariest ride I ever had was in Sydney. It was raining and the driver did not know the streets. He actually left the road coming over a hill. Shades of Bullitt.

Amsterdam is a great city for just wandering. If you want to visit the Anne Frank Museum, get your tickets ASAP. Without a ticket ahead of time, you won't get it. The Rijksmuseum is one of the great art museums with some of Rembrandt's best. Be sure to chek out a visit to a neighboring town like Arnhem. It's about an hour away by train and has an outdoor museum of houses and people from Holland's past.

I would do one day in Edinburgh and then get on a bus or train to see the countryside. St. Andrews is more than a golf course and not too far from Edinburgh. A ride north to Inverness would be beautiful, especially if you make it a loop. Urquart Castle is a beautiful ruin on the west side of Loch Ness is a great place for photos especially in the evening. If you haven't driven on the other side of the road before, don't be afraid to try. Cities can be scary, but once you are out of Edinburgh, you will be fine. The most dangerous parts for me were parking lots and intersections. Just take your time and don't worry about holding up traffic a bit while you make sure you will be turning onto the correct side of the road. A museum pass can be a good investment. And do try to stop at a distillery for a tour and tasting.

The amount of water changes. By June you might get away with trying to use your DSLR and having it usable in the future by trying one of the suggestions above. We visited in late March. The camera went into a waterproof bag and stayed there. We wore the ponchos and were still completely soaked within minutes. It was like being in a tropical rainstorm times two. Water on the path was two inches deep. No clouds in the sky; just splash from falls. No one was allowed above the falls as the water was so great. No way I would even think about subjecting an expensive camera to that even for a second. Get a waterproof camera or a housing like divers use. On our next trip in November the water was so low I didn’t need any protection. Since mst of the commenters don’t say when they visited take their suggestions with several grains of salt.

Have you been to Savannah? We took a boat day trip to this city, one of the most beautiful in the south and that is saying a lot. The profusion of squares and old buildings provide a number of great photo opportunities. The boat ride and waterfront are nice, too.

I don't know why barryb was so down on South Africa. We have seen all the animals there and really enjoyed our safaris although we did like Botswana better. We worked with Mango Safaris. It's a small company operated by two college friends who travel throughout Africa extensively every year to keep up with the best places to stay. They are extremely accommodating to your needs whether that be price or type of accommodation. They are easy to work with online. Check their website at https://www.mangoafricansafaris.com/.

You will see some of the most beautiful bridges for great pictures. The sand dunes near Florence is another great spot.

If you are interested in hiring a guide in the Manuel Antonio area, please let me recommend Andres Martin Chavez Rojas. He is one of the leading ornithologists in Costa Rica (particularly about bird songs and calls) and a great guide. I spent the day with him and saw more birds than I ever expected. And he was a big help taking pictures. He was especially helpful in making sure that I had really seen the particular markings that identified each bird in his scope. This link is a good write-up by another traveler who used Andres as a guide in the national park. My day with him was spent outside the park. http://livetravelplay.marionette.ca/2015/09/23/lessons-from-a-costa-rican-wildlife-guide/

Some of the best views of Mt. Hood are from Trinity Lake which is just a short drive from Hiway 26 near the summit. On a windless day you can get stunning reflections of the mountain.
