In McBaine, MO is the largest burr Oak tree in the U.S. It's about a 30 minute drive south of I-70.

I love to watch peoples actions to simple tasks and I also believe that the auto industry has done a great disservice to the young drivers of our time.

You can't start your auto until you call someone first.

It's all a Russian plot to take over the world.

Snow became saturated with sleet and rain making 4-8" of ice to be cleared. We still have power but many do not. Church was canceled (rare) because even the huge plows and bucket loaders were having trouble trying to clear the lot. I don't have a lot to offer for today, Larry and all. Just this bluebird - one of the few I managed to get with wings spread.

The only thing that matters is this. If the photo you end with looks like what you envisioned form the start looks the same, who cares what shutter speed, focal length, f-stop, ISO or camera you use.

I favor a Nikon 60mm macro & 105mm macro both are f/2.8 and bought used. I also use a 4x and 10x microscope planer lens for extreme close-ups. You'll need a few few extra parts to adapt to a Nikon but the cost is under $50.

Have you ever saw an image that looked really fantastic until you took a photograph. Well, here's one, just could not make this work for me.

Yes, only using one ISO or a film camera would be the ultimate challenge ...

Just last week I bought film for a 1930 era Rollex 20 camera. The shutter speed is 1/50 or bulb, f/5.6, ISO 100. Try making decent indoor & outdoor image when time is your only variable.
I'm hoping the camera don't have any light leaks.

I've been reading here for yrs. but recently got my first DSLR, Nikon D3300 (used) that came with the Nik. DX-VR 18-55mm- 3.5-5.6GII lens, and an Albinar 80-200 lens. I'm still a rank beginner. My 1st few shots with the 18-55 were "ok" when I but the Albinar on, I kept getting the "no lens attached" msg. After much research I discovered this was NOT an automatic lens, (no electronic contact points) and could only be used on full manual. I never considered there were such things. I'd like to get a zoom 50-70 (or close) to 200 or preferably 300mm, for the Least cost possible, without sacrificing "much" quality. Nikon has a 55-300, and 70-300 VR lens I've seen. I can only afford a used one. I'd like suggestions for the best for a somewhat inexpensive price. I'd like suggestions on what may be the best for me. I am still a rank amateur, know the basic ideas, but still have much to learn. These shots were my first time out in Big Cypress Fl., all shot on auto.

I have a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G ED VR Autofocus IF Lens that I don't use any more. I'll part with it for $125 plus shipping. Has hood & caps. If I can find a carrying case I'll throw that in also.

I tried to figure out all the changes folks wanted me to do and how to do them and I started over. In LR I masked the kitty a few times and darkened him, sharpened him, applied a little clarity and a little yellow. (This was to the RAW file, so it wasn't as orangey as the jpeg.) Then I masked the background and took the highlights down. In PS, I chose the white and tried to move it toward less blue. I don't know that actually did anything. I tried cloning out the shadow and the tree right above his head and one person suggested, but it didn't seem to want to work correctly. I also tried to take out the fringing that was noted, and that didn't seem to do anything either. Not sure why.

So, if anyone is still listening, is this any better? Or just different? Did I go the wrong way on my adjustments?
