It's time for you, your family, and friends to go out and get a job.

If the collective "you" already have jobs, it's time for "you" to improve "your" sk**ls, or get a better education, because with that great jobs report and the stock market at record highs, there's no longer an excuse for not making ends meet.

What an ignorant and arrogant post. Truly ignorant. My financial situation is fine - I was not speaking about me or my family.

As far as the "homeless" go, have you ever considered that many of these people have been absolutely priced out of the housing market by money grabbing slumlords?

Why do you put homeless in quotes? Homeless is homeless. There are a number of reasons for it. Google can tell you what some of them are.

But, here is the bottom line: Who cares what you, me, Steven Hawking, your friends, or my friends believe? As long as we are happy with our choice after we research the facts, then all is good. We make our decision(s) and go on. My primary reason for responding to the original quote was this: Why the name calling? What is the value? Why did you call someone a name bec they did not agree with you? Is that what a religious person would do? I know a certain politician who calls everyone and anyone a (negative) name that does not agree with that person.
But, here is the bottom line: Who cares what you,... (show quote)

I didn’t call anyone a name. I never call anyone stupid for their beliefs.

I care what people believe but won’t try and push it down their throat. I look at it like this - if someone is overboard toss them a life preserver. But its their choice whether to pick it up

Rose42, sorry, my friend, you are incorrect. I have quite a few scientist friends who are Christians and do believe in religion. One of them is a physician, a surgeon. They all agree, however, that science simply does not defend organized religion but they believe anyhow for reasons that, even they, can not explain. But, they believe anyhow and they tell me they have made peace with it. Stephen Hawking was an English brilliant theoretical physicist and cosmologist. When asked if he believed in God, he replied something like "no, science does not support religion". He was not angry, defensive, or combative, simply stating the facts as all scientists do.

It is OK to be religious and believe regardless of whether science supports it or not. Cool out and enjoy life and your religion and try not to fight facts. If you don't believe me (I wouldn't if I were you), just do your research. Also, and this is important, have fun with your photography.
Rose42, sorry, my friend, you are incorrect. I ha... (show quote)

Steven Hawking was smart but he was not wise. There is a difference.

Science will likely never explain Jesus Christ but then there are many things science can’t explain. That doesn’t mean Christians aren’t interested in science

I don’t fight facts but am stating them. One can’t be forced to believe - its a choice. The scientists, doctors and engineers I know who are Christians can explain exactly why they believe and they can honestly say science has no idea how to explain the origins and complexities of life. That is the t***h and there are many who have trouble with that t***h.

Have yourself a Happy New Year.

Come on, everyone. Let's stop the name calling. Actually, jcboy3 is correct. Science does not support religion. But, if you do believe in religion, then no problem; go for it. I always say if it works for you, makes you a better person, helps you through tough times, etc., then great. I'm not religious but some of my best buddies are and I say GREAT (for them, anyhow). We chat, laugh, and have fun together and agree we'll not agree on the science of religion. BTW, some interesting facts. Over the years, as science has answered more and more questions (i.e. how hurricanes and earthquakes really happen, etc etc), the belief in organized religion has decreased. Another interesting fact I recently read: Of all of the continents in the world Christianity has decreased (last few decades) in all of them except one: Answer: Africa. There, Christianity has increased.
Come on, everyone. Let's stop the name calling. ... (show quote)

Jcboy is not correct but its pointless to discuss as he is not a seeker of t***h but one who looks for ways to reinforce his atheism.

Many scientists are Christians. To claim Christians eschew science is simple ignorance

You can't observe it, because it happened a long time ago. But you can put the pieces of knowledge together to form the theory. As a theory, however, it is valid. Elements of it can be tested.

Whereas creationism is not a theory; there is nothing to test. There are no experiments to run. It is just a fantasy trying to simplistically explain a very long complicated process.

And it proposes that the "creator" has always existed. Want to test that?

You aren’t searching for t***h but rather looking for reasons to prop up your unbelief

Science is a religion for many but science has absolutely no idea how we and life’s complexity and interdependencies came to be no matter how anyone tries to spin it

Pay attention folks.

trump is telling everyone with any kind of knowledge of what happened in Europe between WWI and WWII is what he wants to do to America if he somehow manages to get reelected.

Invoking the I**********n Act, declaring martial law, doing away with the entire US Constitution, and invoking a f*****t rule.

Everyone needs to pay really close attention to trump's own words at his campaign stops, and his social media posts.

We The People don't want to end up like the people in Germany and Italy before and during WWII.

Lack of attention to trumps words now will be a serious mistake if he miraculously manages to make it back to the Oval Office after the 2024 E******n.

Do not underestimate what trump wants to do, and what he'll try to do.

The question is IF there will be any way left to stop trump after he guts the federal government?
