I love astral photography and have done two workshops in Maine. Milky Way, star trails and of course amazing sunsets. My favorite instructor is not returning to Maine due to family concerns. I am looking for a multiday workshop in the May-June timeframe. Can anyone recommend a good outfit? I would have researched this a while ago but I just learned about his situation. Thanks for any help.

John Tunney lives on cape cod and does workshops in Maine. I have taken many classes from him and does a great job. I know he has workshops scheduled, if you go to johntunney.com you can see what he has scheduled.

If you are interested let me know as I will then send photos, etc. This camera has zero signs of wear, and I have sold several cameras and lenses on this site with very happy buyers. If interested, please PM me. Reasonable offers accepted!
Thanks,

Didn't you say you had a laptop?

Sorry for the confusion, I should have said I would look at a new computer for PP.

Unfortunately the lack of an independent graphics card in combination with a 5 year old laptop is the source of the problem. If you add another 8gb of ram you might see a decent boost in performance.

Thank you John, will look into a graphics card and more ram

Try the free PhotoScape X. I didn't like Workspace for my TG-5, but PhotoScape X is quick and easy using a 4-year old Dell with Windows 10.

Thank you, I will look into PhotoScape X

Did you ever try CCleaner software? I use it at the end of everyday and it gets rid of all that stuff! That would save you an awful lot of headaches having to reload your operating system along with all the other software. It gets rid of all the leftover junk files, and it has an option for getting rid of all the obsolete items in your registry. It is a very popular piece of software and it really works. I have used it for years, and they have a free version or a full complete version for around $29.oo. Try it, you won't be sorry. If you are worried about a virus get a copy of ESET Internet Security; you can get really good deals on it at Amazon instead of paying full retail. I just bought a new one last month that protects 3 computers for 2 years for $45.00.

The computer may only be meeting the minimum requirements. Does it have a separate graphics card? How old is the computer?[/quote]

It does not have a graphics card and is 5yrs old.

No problems on an underpowered Dell desktop that was used as a remote keyboard and monitor for work. The only issue is the program wants me to register each time it is opened. The export to .TIF is a bit slow. Maybe RAW files from a TG-5 are smaller than your files, and process faster?

I have the same issue with registration.

A good place to start your troubleshooting is with computer system requirements, including ram and GPU. See:

Thank, you Linda. I did check your link and I do seem to have the system requirements. I have a Toshiba i5 series core w/8GB of ram and free space.

I have an Oly OM D E M1 Mark2 that I PP raw files with the Olympus Workspace software. I don't know if it is my computer or the program but it takes forever to work on and edit the files. Does anyone use this program and find it as slow as I do. Considering changing to a different program.
