Gorgeous image! I don't understand how the leaves went from green to that exquisite purple. Did you post-process them, or something?

I also still use my Olympus Pen EP-5. A fantastic little camera with more "features" than I'll ever use. It's so enjoyable, I will never part with it.

Lovely Luna.

Unfortunately, here on the East Coast we won't get to see this super moon and eclipse in all its beauty. I'm looking forward to the great images you're going to post here for us to see.

It looks to me as though this image was taken in bright sunlight. While I really like its elements, my feeling is that it would be more intriguing if the overall tonality (brightness) were reduced and the contrast made more emphatic, especially in the subject's face. While this is mostly a matter of personal taste, you have a great image to work with here.

This topic always draws a lot of responses and opinions, mostly pro-RAW and less often pro-JPG, but in reality it depends mainly how you're planning to display your captured images. On a computer screen or smaller, JPGs will look just fine, and even on larger screens, remember that some limited image editing can still be done to improve even JPGs.

Personally speaking, I grew tired of always post-processing RAWs except in special cases, and I, like you, found the rewards to be less spectacular than the time and effort required. Most "SOOC" JPGs are very well developed by the current crop of in-camera image processors, so except for rare cases, I've reverted to shooting almost exclusively JPG, often with very pleasing results.

I suppose purists and "professionals" still tend toward shooting only RAW, but I have seen and have produced numerous JPGs which also evoke great visual pleasure "SOOC".

Maybe it's because I'm getting older or maybe it's because I desire quicker results, but whatever the reason, for the past few years I've been very happy getting my images straight out of camera as JPGs with only the rare RAW exception.

For example, attached is 2.1 mPx JPG photo I took with my first digital camera back in 1998. I'm sure RAW would have been a better option for this particular image, but JPG was all that I had available to me.

How much is an Oly MMF-3? Somewhere around $300? I bought two "Viltrox" adapters on Ebay for my 4/3 lenses for about $30 each. I leave them permanently attached to the lenses, they work just great and since they contain no glass, you don't have to worry about any image degradation. Save yourself almost $300 and try just one. You'll like it.

Both are very nice though I prefer the first one. It has gorgeous symmetry and a tacit sense of motion as well, as if the bird is coming straight toward you.

Wow! Great shot of some nostalgia for me. It seems it hasn't changed a bit in the 40 years since I used to go there.

As someone already mentioned, check out the Dell Outlet 'scratch and dent' website. You can find exceptional, waranteed bargains there of 'higher end' equipment. I recently bought my Inspiron 17 inch "7786" 2-in-1 laptop for only $840 instead of $1350 on the regular Dell Home site.

Dell also always has 'outlet' coupons which you can find by Googling them and which will usually offer an extra 12% to 18% off of the already low outlet prices.

Dell's outlet prices are hard to beat.

I have both Nikon and Olympus camera systems. It's probably because I'm older but the small and light in weight mirrorless Oly's are what I always reach for these days. Yeah, I know, the MFT sensor is smaller by about half, but the images that it can produce are still outstanding under most conditions. If I were a professional making my living through photography, I would likely want to carry with me the most outstanding equipment I could find regardless of size and weight, but I'm only a multi-decade serious photo enthusiast who fell in love with MFT at about age 70. Chances are you will too when you get to my age (depending on what newer technology has to offer).
