Hello Tino:
Certainly I cannot speak with as much technical knowledge or experience as others on this site I consider myself a weekend hack with a love for photography toys!
I have the same setup. The Tokina takes an excellent picture but to be honest I do not find myself reaching for it all that often. What else do you have in your bag. Perhaps something with a bit more reach to pull in some wildlife or other interesting shots that the wider angle would lose. My advice would be to rent that lens and perhaps a longer one and play with them for a week and see which one you enjoy more. Enjoy the trip
Good Luck - Joe
Hello:
Please let me know if you post your equipment
Thanks - Joe
Hello Angela:
Couple of thoughts. Before purchasing a camera try to identify one or two candidates (someone mentioned a spreadsheet) and then consider renting them on line fora few days and give them a trial run. Udemy always seems to be running specials for first time buyers courses can be bought for as little as 9.99. You can buy three or four for less than $50 and access is permanent. Although I have bought a lightroom class I have not ad the time to view it.
Good Luck!
Before you consider going out and buying a lens consider an online rental you would save substantial money on a lens you may not use very often. I am off on vacation my self and decide to rent Nikon's 24-70 f/2.8G for about $120.00 and it retails for about $1,300.00, Enjoy your trip
Too much negativity in the world do not let it impact your enjoyment. The pictures look great, wish I were local so I could visit and check them out. Great accomplishment, enjoy the moment.
I use a Black Rapid strap and purchased a tether at the camera store that allows me to attach it to the camera strap lugs rather than tripod socket, which allows me to leave my quick release plate on the camera.
One chain two different experiences. I was looking for another backpack and went to Hunt’s in Providence, RI. My impression there is that the people are knowledgeable and like to prove it to you. Very little help. I brought a bag to the counter and asked to see my camera for fit. The salesperson gave me the camera looked at me and said not going to fit. I happened to be near their Melrose, Ma store and went through the same process only this time when then bag did not appear to be a good fit the salesperson asked what I was trying to do and what I was trying to carry. He grabbed a bag off the shelf and started pulling out the different lenses I had and helped me arrange the bag to hold the gear. He then had me put it on my back and try it out. Unfortunately a bit of a drive but worth the effort.
I recently went through a similar decision and went with the 7100 the big difference that I was aware of was the wireless connectivity on the 7200. A feature i did not place much value in so isaved myself a little money and bought the Tokina 11 - 16 lens.
Something I quickly snapped on my way to work. Something new look around the left and right edges and you will notice new growth on the trees. Midway down there is an old tree toppled into the water - not very noticeable. This is one of my favorite spots on my way to work.
Sure this has been asked before but can anyone recommend some good free sites for lightroom tutorials? Thanks - Joe
