I am a only child and grew up on a farm. I had a malamute names Tippy. Tippy was my best friend from toddler on and would get me in trouble as I couldn’t unlock the gate around the house but she could. More than once I was found holding onto her tail and following her out of site on adventures as a toddler. Couldn’t have asked for a better companion.
Broke my heart when I had to be the final deciding vote to have her put to sleep to sleep to put her out of suffering when around 7. Still get teary eyed about it as I wrote now.
This Xmas our twins wish for a dog finally came true and we have Dakota, a 21 month old English Springer Spaniel as a new member of the family. Mom had terrible experience with family dog terrorizing her as a child and it took 6 years of asking Santa for a dog till she gave in. I too am getting to adapt to photographing with a dog. The grey heron I love to take pictures of is not a fan of him. LOL.
If you are at all familiar with assembling disassembling computers it’s a 15 minute process to upgrade the memory. You will save $100’s. I am contemplating buying one myself and wouldn’t pay more than the price for the 16gb option before upgrading myself. Many videos online to see the process and decide if you are comfortable doing the installation.
With price of cards so low, keep an extra in car. Also like the previous post about keeping a card by reader at computer and swapping.
So sorry to hear of this. We all make mistakes and I’ve done it more than once. In the film days I even had a roll of film not engage in the advance mechanism properly and after a spectacular race found one picture with 36 exposures on it. LOL.
Along with changing the menu option to not allow shooting without a card may I suggest buying another card and keeping one in camera and the other in your card reader or computer’s card slot. Then at end of day you exchange the card from camera with the one from reader/computer to ensure this doesn’t happen in future. Even with menu set to not allow taking picture you still need a card and might not have access to purchase if you didn't remember to replace it.
Make sure you take a few minutes to just sit in a aspen grove and listen as the trees move and the leaves rustle while taking in the wonderous smell. It’s truly magical.
If all else fails open the programs you mentioned thinking you may have used and look under the file menu, most programs will have a recently opened option there
See if it lists the files names of the files you are trying to obtain info about.
Or leave it on and pull down the white slider till the red overlay is gone (highlight clipping corrected.l).

Tabaware.com link doesn"t exist...typo?
I checked and it’s tawbaware.com
Sounds like cropping issue has been addressed. As to the dark sides if you have Lightroom, Photoshop or similar program use a gradient on just the edges and you can increase the exposure slightly while feathering the edges of the gradient so it looks natural.

burkphoto tganks for the info. Will try the link you mentioned. Tried it in the past and wouldn’t work for my MacBook but see it’s updated.
Great to know third party burners will work. Would have gone that route had I known.
Glad you got them to open on another Mac. A external cd/dvd drive won’t work on a Mac that comes with a cd/dvd. Apple for some reason won’t allow it. I have a laptop with the same issue.
Glad to hear of your and others recovery. I am 57 and orthopedic surgeon says I have one of the worst shoulder he’s ever seen but waiting as long as I can to repair as he states no more mountain biking or off-road motorcycling after shoulder replacement.
My shoulder is one of the reasons I went mirrorless as I can’t hlod much weigh at shoulder height or above.
On iPhone. Once on Facebook press once on small photo to access largest version. Then long press on photos and a option to save photo will appear. Select save and then it will be saved to your photos app on phone.
