If / when you get your equipment back, consider the auto-quote process at KEH.com. You'll likely get a better understanding of the wholesale pricing (aka 'blue book) of camera equipment, especially consumer-grade models. Selling to a reseller is the quickest way to get paid, but also the method least likely to maximize funds.

There's contact information on page 12 this thread for Nancy Miller at Adorama that might be able to help, if you contact her directly. https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-720414-12.html#12744733

You know that ‘Nancy Miller’ isn’t a real person? She’s one of a team of CS people ….they gave ‘her’ an ‘all-American name’ to make you believe an actual person cares🤣😅🙃

Aaah…..Adorama still pulling the same rubbish….I have little doubt Monsieur Gold is lurking around somewhere in all this.

A couple years ago, Adorama fired an employee CS who had expressed frustration with the number of customer complaints directed toward their used department. Most were bait and switch and/or down valuing items from sellers. Details can be found searching the archives of dpreview and FredMiranda. I will hold on to an item before buying or selling used to/from Adorama. Choose a private (like here!) or KEH or MPB or eBay, etc.

I wasn’t fired; I quit, because I couldn’t stand the lying & hypocrisy

I too appreciate the warning. Having done business with Adorama in the past I was unaware and unsuspecting of these more recent issues.

Trustpilot (which factors in the age of the reviews in its rating) gives Adorama 2.8 out of 5, whereas Abe's of Mane gets 4.5 out of 5! This corroborates the consumer rating information from the BBB web site, but with a larger sampling.

Many threads here on UHH routinely include Adorama in a list of reliable merchants; evidently this company should now be stricken from such listings.

How sad……I just read a few of the complaints on TrustPilot…..not only is ‘Nancy Miller’ not a single person - an ‘all-American name’ was selected to front the customer service people serving you from the Philippines - but the so-called ‘CS Ambassador’ (a title I chose to describe what I grew the role to be), uses copy & paste expressions & contrite apologies lifted directly from responses that I wrote personally in response to individual complaints.
The used department official policy is to give over the phone inflated offers for used gear. I repeat, it is used department policy. They figure that once you send it in, and it’s been ‘evaluated’ - & you are told it’s worth $200 less than expected, you will feel it’s too much trouble to ask for it to be returned.
They receive thousands of used items every week….. the profit they make this way is eye-watering….

And yes, returned items are repacked carefully & sold as new.

And ‘competitions’ are run merely to harvest emails, & it can be literally impossible to unsubscribe from them.

When I joined Adorama they were floundering & I slowly rebuilt their reputation- not with boilerplate emails, but by encouraging the business to change policies & practices.
Then the founder of the business retired & the person appointed as CEO was the idiot who brought down Sears. From what I saw, he had zero interest in the business itself - he was there to ‘clean up’ his resume. He detested me because I challenged the vile marketing practices he introduced.

3 pieces of advice:
Do not believe a single word from the mouths of the used department people
Do not give Adorama your email address
Do not believe that the CS people care about you - they do not.

I don’t notice you posting a pic of the shipping label, showing the weight. I do not read where you filed notice with your credit card company or PayPal. I simply do not find your efforts credible.

Adorama used department has form for this kind of nonsense. Promising new goods & sending out returns; losing goods sent in for sale; offering to buy goods at a certain price then withdrawing that offer once they have the goods in their possession, hoping that the seller will give up on getting what they were promised. Do a Google search - you’ll very quickly pull up hundreds of similar complaints.

It wasn’t so much mistreatment- as failure by the new management team to recognise the job I was taken on to do, and failure to recognise that satisfied customers are pretty much the life blood of a business!

So sorry to read that this has been your experience - The used department’s shenanigans was one of the reasons I left Adorama.
(The other was the spam mentality of the marketing team)

But it seems not everyone has noticed I no longer work there, as a kind soul sent a pm to let me know about this post!

Good question - and many answers exist, but it is Canon's professional line (though used extensively by non-professionals) of EOS EF autofocus 35mm SLR and DSLR still camera lenses. Some say L stands for "Low Dispersion" - achieved by the UD lens elements found in these lenses. But, the true answer is probably the one in Canon's Lens Work III Book - "L" is for "Luxury".

Watch the sidelines at the next professional sporting event you attend or watch on TV. Look for the identifying L-lens red stripe around the end of the photographers' camera lenses. These are the people who make a living with their equipment - and they frequently trust the CanonL Lens Series for their income.
