[Welcomequote=lblann]Hello everyone. I'm Lee. Really glad to have found this site! I started my photography adventure in a high school journalism class for the school's newspaper. First camera was a Yashica twin lens reflex. At first I thought the darkroom was a place to make my hands stink. (I now miss that smell) Was the unofficial ship's photographer during my 4 yr. hitch in the Coast Guard. I then worked as a Public Relations photographer at Georgetown University while studying to be an Ophthalmic Technician. Had tons of fun shooting basketball games, and honed my skills in the darkroom thanks to Bill Auth, my boss. He was a great teacher, and he went from there to US News and World Report. As an eye tech I learned the ropes of taking photos of the back of the eye. Forty years later, I picked up my Nikon FM again, and my first digital camera, an Olympus point and shoot. Loved that camera! I retired in 2013 and bought a Nikon D3200. Yes I'm aware this is an "entry level" camera, but I'm enjoying it very much. UHH is a wonderful place to visit every day and I'm finding it a great alternative to FB. I encourage CC on my post here, and might give some back![/quote]

An atheist was seated next to a little girl on an airplane and he turned
to her and said, "Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike

The little girl, who had just started to read her book, replied to the total
stranger, "What would you want to talk about?"

"Oh, I don't know," said the atheist. "How about why there is no God,
or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death?" as he smiled smugly.

"Okay," she said. "Those could be interesting topics but let me ask
you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same
stuff - grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns
out a flat patty, but a horse produces clumps. Why do you suppose that is?"

The atheist, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence,
thinks about it and says, "Hmmm, I have no idea." To which
the little girl replies, "Do you really feel qualified to discuss
God, Heaven and Hell, or life after death, when you don't know shit?"

And then she went back to reading her book.

Thanks for the memories. I remember when I was a kid in the mid 50's, we had a "party" line. There were 3 homes with the same # but 3 different ring patterns so you knew who the call was directed to.

Selling my Nikon D850 which is 7 months old. It is just too much camera for me. As new in the box. Comes with Darrel Youngs Book "Mastering the Nikon D850." Guess I didn't master it. Comes with top of the line Sony Hi Speed memory cards, extra batteries. Call for pictures and information. $2650.00. Accept US Postal Money Orders or Bank Certified Check. Sorry I didn't put all my information in. New at this.

List the serial number. That should help determine if it is USA or greu market

I found a good deal on a new Nikon on ebay. No warranty (it's an import) but it has a 30 day satisfaction guarantee and free returns. I'm sure lots of you have had experience with this, so advice would be valuable. The savings is significant, or I would not even consider it. The seller also offers their own warranty, but I haven't yet been informed of it's price. The seller has 5 star approval ratings.

My nikon D750 is 18 mo. old. The shutter release button has failed. The camera is out of
warranty. It was sent to the factory for repair. If I had purchased grey Nikon would not repair
it and I would have a dead camera. I would never purchase a grey market camera.

Do you have bracketing turned on? Sometimes I forget to turn it off after shooting.

The Nikon menu will have an option called “release” in the autofocus tab you’re looking at. Turn that off. Your issue is you have given the body two ways to initiate autofocus. Then you can select your focus point with the back button, let go of the bb and recompse and fire off your shot. I faced the same dilema in the past so understand your frustration. Good luck.

Hi everyone. Found out about this site while shooting frozen objects at Edgewater Park in Cleveland, Ohio and met one of your members. Did quite a bit of talking considering it was 9° and windy. I think his name was Ken ? (attached a pic of him)
I moved to Lakewood 4 years ago after living and working all my life in NYC. I also worked for NIKE basketball and did some NYFW work.
Looking forward to being part of this group.
