I think you hit the nail right on the head.
Actually it is a pyrroloxia. We have both them and cardinals in Arizona.
Probably retiring as a field biologist this year. Going to miss being in the desert at these special hours.
I have been using one of those cameras as a backup for 4 or 5 years. I am in the field a good amount of time as a biologist and it has done me well. It has been carried around in my back pack, dropped, and fallen on. Kind of dinged up but keeps working. Zoom is pretty good for wildlife and I just posted some landscape photos from the Superstition Mountains yesterday that were taken with it. For the price, a good little point and shoot.
Last year's rain was amazing.
Sun just coming up in winter of 2016
I recently bought some extra batteries on Amazon for my Canon mirrorless camera. The batteries had Canon on them and the correct numbers. When I tried to use them I got an error message and then a notice that they might be counterfeit and my camera shut off. Be leary of cheap batteries on Amazon.
Beautiful, spent many happy camping trips in that area over the last 50 years.
