A couple years ago, I applied for a Payboo card and was rejected notwithstanding an 800+ credit score. I notice they have switched banks for the card so I gave it another shot. Again, notwithstanding, providing them all the information needed to open the account, they sent a form letter giving me a phone number to call so that I could provide them the info they needed to evaluate my application. I declined to call back. I sense a sleaze factor here, something like shaking hands with Michael Avanati.

Sadly, this is not a good-news story. Recently, my D7200 and I were caught in a downpour lasting a couple of hours. Both of us got drenched in spite of my trying to protect the camera under my sweater. When home, I dried it off and wrote UHH'ers. Lots of good advice, all of which I took, including the rice burial, shoe box with the hair drier, etc. Nothing worked over several days. My camera was in perfect shape except for the wet. When turned, on the display would show an hourglass momentarily and then go blank. Realizing the camera was not worth the repair cost, particularly if they couldn't get it running again, I opted to sell it cheap to someone willing to give it a try. That money then went toward buying a D7500 with which I always carry a plastic bag incase I'm caught outside again. Crap happens. Considered just moving on. And, good luck. BTW, the lens survived.

Thanks, all, for your sage advice. I will take my cell phone and that'll have to do. Bob

I once sold a NIKKOR lens to MPB and after looking at it they increased their offer, which, of course, I took.

My wife is dragging me to a PGA event which leads me to two questions. First, what lens should I use on my D7500, and second, what is the etiquette of photographing one of these events?

Can you return them to ebay or is it a "no return" seller?

The original Charlie Chan books are quite good. Charlie is a completely different character from the movies. Sort of a mysterious one that comes and goes in the story. Really good reading if you like that genre.

I was a TV broadcast engineer for nearly 20 years back in the late 70's and 80's. Back then a long break was 2 minutes and they generally came as a lead in, a mid break, and then and final break. Anyway, total time was generally 6 minutes per half hour. Now a single break can and often does last that long! It now takes 3 hours to watch a 2 hour movie with commercials and it just keeps getting worse with no end in sight. While we too try to record programs and then fast forward through the ads, one can wear out their button pusher doing so!

I'll confess to watching Fox News. Between the 3rd and 4th segment of Bret Bier's show, there's about a 5 minute session of ads. Does any company think folks are going to stay in touch with that much junk blasting at them?

Recall the 1950's when the TV remotes first began to appear. We heard at the time the advertisers were aghast. Even they couldn't stop progress.

I tape everything I watch. Even the evening news. That way I speed through the commercials. Prime network, which now has commercials, doesn't allow this. We're giving up Prime when our subscription runs out in June.
