I picked up a Nikon P5000. What a fun camera. Has all the bells and whistles, EV, viewfinder, hot shoe for speedlight. 10 MP. In its day it was a $500 camera. I picked one up on Ebay under $100, including manuals, S/W, Box, cables, etc. Last summer I spent a week in DC and only took the P5000. Excellent results. Good luck.

I understand the urge to buy. So many things I wanted, yet in the back of my head I could hear "do you really need that?" probably a good thing.

I wound up buying some books at Rocky Nook, met and talkedto Scott Kelby, bought some paper sample packs, and bought a Dark cloth and a polarizer over at B&H. All in all a wonderful time. If you ever get up to the Boston/Providence area give me a holler.

Went to the Photo Expo Plus in NYC last Thursday and Friday. Met some fellow UHH members. Met and talked to some world class photographers, saw and handled some amazing equipment. Got some valuable information from the manufacturers. A hello out to NJFrank whom I met there and had a wonderful conversation. Overall a great experience and wish I had gone years ago during the film years. Anyone else go and if so how was your experience?

Do you watch, or have you watched, The Office - English or American? About a week ago, I thought I'd give it a try, starting with the first episode. I find it very funny. When I finish all nine seasons, I'll look for the English version.

If and when you watch the English version, with Ricky Gervais the original creator, you'll realize what a waste of time the American version was.

See? It IS a stupid game - a moronic way to post a generic question with no other qualifiers. And the yutz keeps answering with his "reasons" to keep the show going.

New word - "Dumoflatulant" - farting silly questions from the mouth

I’m often asked what it’s like to shoot film. I just tell them:
A. Get a 2 gig sd card, good for about 20-30 images.
B. Fill it up but don’t look at any images AT ALL!!!
C. Wait approximately one week to view.

That’s what it’s like to shoot film.

I agree whole-heartedly. There’s something about picking up an F100 and holding it to your eye and pressing the shutter.
