Good images Ale! I especially like the one of Lacar Lake with the lady's back to the camera. I like the composition!

Any advice on what setting to change?

Well.. Maybe you can start by telling us the setting with which you took those and then we'll see what went wrong.
To be honest, I'm still learning and shoot most of my pics in Auto mode, but this data will be a solid basis for me or any other more experienced member to be able to help you.

You have a good SD card there, so that's not it. I think it would have to be something related to the current settings on your camera.

Hi guys!
I've posted just once here when I first joined this community, and I only had an 18-55mm kit lens with which I started my journey into amateur photography. Now I got a 55-300mm lens to play a bit more! And here are some of the pictures I took from a friend who came with me in this trip about a month ago.
I still shoot, mostly, in auto mode (takes me ages to get the right setting for each scene). These are just a few of them, I have a lot but I need to work on them first and I'm really short on free-time.
I've only tweaked a bit the histogram so... please take a look at them and anything you can tell me to improve, is more than welcome!

For anyone who does not know. Kaepernick started it as a protest over police brutality. And his muslim anti american fiance on her reality show made it into a protest about america and trump. And most of all the white devil. And stupid ol kaepernick forgot his adoptive parents are white. Seems to me he should get rid of her and thank america for every thing he has.

Well.. now everything makes sense to me.. thanks for clearing that up :)

Hi! sorry to jump in but, english is not my mother language... I do see what John_F meant when he talks about "taking the knee" before a loved one or a tomb stone, but I seem to be missing the meaning of doing so during your national anthem. Maybe you could explain it to me? Was that guy tying his shoe or something? And, I don't really know if my question sounds disrespectful at all or not, but I'd like to apologize in advance if anyone feels I meant it that way.

Wow.. I have to say, first, that I envy you a little bit for the chance to take that picture, that place looks amazing!
Then, I believe #1 is the most "complete" scene, whilst #2 and #3 are perfectly good pictures by themselves, I think keeping them together gives you a different appreciation of the whole place. You get to see that contrast in colors and shapes between the two sides of it and having the clouds moving in like a fog is just... awesome.
Nice job!

I'm not sure exactly how to phrase this. I see quite a few landscape photographs that are really sharp and distinct. Now, in my 77 years, I have traveled quite a lot around the world and I just have never seen landscapes that really looked like that. I find the pictures to be very good and generally quite striking but they do not reflect what I think I have seen. Having said that, I would like to know how the "enhanced" effects are achieved. I'm guessing that it involves a lot of contrast and some method of increasing sharpness. I have been using very good cameras (Nikon D-800 and now a new D-850) along with the important primes and telephoto lenses and a tripod but I don't get the definition I see in so many photos here. My comments are not meant to criticize anyone's results but to learn what post processing results in such distinct pictures. I hope I have made myself clear.

Hi Scotty! I'm relatively new in photography, and to the forum as well, and I think you and me are having the same concern.
Could you please upload some of these pics you took so I can compare with mine?
Thanks!
