On February 16 1935 the Democratic Governor of North Dakota was ousted, having been declared ineligible. The Republican Lt. Governor Walter Welford took over as Governor. The state Senate was composed of 42 Republicans and 7 Democrats. The state House of Representatives had 83 Republicans and 30 Democrats.. The GOP ruled all of ND from 2-16-35. On 7-15-35 the GOP gave ND it's first sales tax, at a rate of 2%. It has since grown to 5% generally, and as much as 8.5% on some items in some parts of the state. So much for the tax cutting GOP. The sales tax transferred taxes from the rich to the poor. The rich pay less on income, capital gains, oil production, etc. The poorer pay more for everything they buy. Thank the nice GOP.

Every sales tax state I have been in, the sales tax has been imposed / raised by GOP governments. Oregon has only had sales taxes proposed when Repubs ran things. The sales taxes have not yet passed, and are not proposed by Dems. The sales taxes also tend to start with essentials-food, medicine, etc-exempted...but such things get sales taxes in the long run. So, poor folks pay higher prices for what they need-food.medicine, TP, etc-while the rich pay less on everything they get. The rich get exemptions from sales taxes by buying in bulk, or buying in non sales tax states /nations, and shipping things in. Even when they pay sales tax / import duty on a truck / ship / plane load of items , the rich write it off as a business expense, and so get what amounts to a tax refund. Sales taxes are regressive, in that those who can least afford to pay them pay the most, while those who can easily afford them pay the least. Income taxes are progressive, in that the rich pay more than the poor / middle....at least before all of the loophole exemptions, credits, refunds, etc. Oregon is usually more Liberal, and Democrat...we have an openly bi-sexual woman as Governor. We have no sales tax yet. North Dakota is GOP run, and has a sales tax as high as 8.5% in some parts of the state.

I never used BBF on my 35mm film cameras which had it, because I was used to the shutter button. Then I got a DSLR and decided to try BFF, and have never gone back. I'm often slow to change, but once I do, I stay with the new. I used cable releases on MF film cameras, but never felt the need with a DSLR. on my DSLR I tend to use the timer to release the shutter.

I'd sell it to someone who enjoys repairing photo gear, and is equipped to do so. He / she can get either a repaired, ready to use, system, or a source of parts for other repairs on other cameras, out of it. Current prices on Nikon D70s-at KEH, etc-are not high enough for me to figure it would be worth my fixing it myself (time wasted), or my paying someone else to fix it (money wasted).

SCOTUS is mostly GOP appointed, so we have lifelong Republicans on the bench. Remember this sort of tax disappointment when you vote for Congress, and President, from now on, and try voting Democrat more. Many of the SCOTUS Justices are getting old enough to die, or retire, soon, and more Democrats may mean replacement justices who will lower taxes by ruling against such things. Republicans TALK a good fight about lowering taxes...but when it comes time to act, they ONLY lower taxes on the Uber Rich...which RAISES taxes on everyone else. Oppressive sales taxes are one of the GOP's favorite means of tricking average people into paying higher taxes. Whenever Income Taxes, Capital Gains Taxes, Inheritance Taxes, etc, are cut on the rich, the Income Taxes, Sales Taxes, Gas Taxes, etc, that everyone else pays go UP. Study some History, and learn something. Then start voting Defensively.

Actually, lighter items ABSORB more heat than do dark ones. Both light, and dark, items both absorb, and reflect, but DIFFERENTLY. Light colors-white, etc-REFLECT LOWER heat frequencies (such as red, and infra-red), BUT ABSORB HIGHER heat frequencies (violet, ultra violet). Dark colors-like brown, and black) do the opposite...ABSORB LOW heat frequencies, and REFLECT AWAY HIGH heat frequencies. All color items will get hot if left in the sun long enough...but lighter colors-white, etc-will get HOTTER....as they absorb the hottest frequencies. Desert dwellers wear black, and brown, more than white, because they know.

God hates Texans, Harvey is proof. Summers are getting hotter, and winters are getting colder, so the climate IS changing....for the worst. The oil companies, and coal companies, and chemical companies, are largely to blame. Hurricanes are getting stronger. So are rains, and floods. Tornadoes, blizzards, etc, will also. Enjoy the damage, and loss, or do something about pollution.

I use different bags for different systems. Once upon a time, I tried Domkes, Lowepros, etc, but found them all deficient in one way, or another. These days, I use only Billingham bags. They offer a wide variety of bags, and backpacks, for pretty much anything you care to carry. I put my Nikon D3300 system into a Billingham Hadley Large bag. My Nikon D500 system goes into a Billingham F1.4 bag. I put my Nikon 1 S1 system into a Billingham Hadley Digital bag. You can find Hadley bags for everything from a small Point & Shoot digital camera to a large 8X10 inch film camera system. Billinghams are expensive, but are well built, and do last. They are worth the cost. Go to Billingham online, and check the internal, and external, dimensions of various bags. Check out the F1.4, the 550, and a few others. You should find something to suit your needs.

JPEG is better for snapping, and emailing as is. RAW is better for editing. All else-discussion wise-is hyperbole.

You won't find a long range zoom lens, with an F/2.8 aperture, for $500.00. You can get a superzoom bridge camera like the Nikon B700 (24-1440mm zoom equivalent) for $500.00, but it won't be F/2.8....just F/3.3-6.5. You can find an F/2.8 Prime lens, but it won't zoom at all, let alone out to 300mm. You need to decide which lens you really want...a long range zoom, or an F/2.8 lens, or a $500.00 lens. Photography is all about choosing compromises, because you will never get everything in one item.

I have never suffered from G.A.S. I buy what I want, when I want, to meet specific purposes, regardless of what others are, or are not, buying, or what is, or is not, the latest / greatest item. I did not buy a PlayStation 3 until the PS4 was on store shelves. I never bought a PS4, and never will. I may get an X-Box One X some day, if I feel like it, but am not rushing to pre-order one. I Bought my girlfriend-who wanted a Superzoom 'bridge camera'-a Nikon B700 because it is Superzoom enough to suit her...even though the Nikon P900 is even more so, and later / greater. I will soon be getting myself a Nikon D500, rather than a Nikon D850, for now...and possibly getting a D850 a few years down the road...after a sequel, or two, (D875?) has come out. How I spend my money is up to me, and no one else. I spend it to meet my needs, and wants. At least I never contributed to The PussyGrabber In Chief-Herr Drumpf-in any way.

Go to nikonusa.com, and ask someone there. They will know the most about it. I suspect the lens would mount, but not be fully useful, and may take some damage, but I don't know for sure. Ask those who do...at Nikon.

Try the Nikon B700...a Superzoom Bridge camera, with a lens equivalent to a 24-1,440mm lens...60X...in a small, lightweight, unit.
