E=mc(squared) implies that matter can be created from energy. It's not a one way street.

In my experience, if you use BIN/Offers, you will get a lot of low ball offers - less than half your asking price. But by doing counter offers, you have a chance of getting it sold. Get ready to take a beating on price.

I have an AOC curved 32" monitor on another PC and like it. The one I have is not good enough for photo work but I do like it. A number of people are now going to the 49" (or about) ultrawide monitor but I haven't tried one of those. I understand the Dell Ultrasharp ultrawide is great.

I use the Asus Pro Art monitor and couldn't be more pleased.

I believe Cat 5 cable is for 10/100 Mbps
Cat 5e and 6 are for 1 Gbps
Cat 7 is good for 10Gbps

I also depends on the length.

No matter which you choose, it will be lightning fast compared to your old machine.

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that a local guy gave me two HDD cases-boxes-holders(?). You put drives into them, and connect them to your computer. I have a 2-drive LaCie and a 4-drive Buffalo. One of the drives is driving me crazy. It's a 3TB HGST. When I connect it, the computer beeps. It shows up as Disk E, but when I try to access it, I get , "E is not accessible. The request failed due to a fatal hardware error."

I used Disk Manager, and it sees a 3TB drive, "not initialized, unallocated," and it began formatting it. No good. It started but stopped because of a problem. Using Diskpart, I began formatting it, but it stopped because of "an incorrect parameter."

I don't like to give up on things, but this seems to be a dead end. The computer can see and access the drive, but that's as far as it gets. I could buy another one for $35, but I'd be willing to spend (waste) all day playing around with this one.

And if you get it working, you probably have a marginal drive. Just replace it. You can probably get 3 or 4 post out of replacing it.

I used to print on disks but now I don't use disks. Haven't figured out how to print on a flash drive.

If you want a land line, just sign up with a VOIP service for $8 to $10 a month. I know several people with Ooma.

But if the computer loses power while it's sleeping you will lose nothing.

That is correct about Hibernation but not sleep. During Sleep the ram is kept powered to avoid losing the contents. During Hibernation the contents of ram are saved to disk which can be restored upon wake.
If you remove power during Sleep, the computer will soon crash (after the power supply capacitors discharge).

Most (maybe all) APC UPSs support auto shutdown and come with a USB cable to connect to your computer. They use a program called Power Chute BUT you can't let your computer sleep as it won't wake them to shut down. At least this is the way it worked a few years back. I hope they fixed it by now.

Everything is going USB-C. The EU recently required Apple to go USB-C on new phones sold in Europe. It's much nicer than USB-A in that it doesn't have to be inserted a particular way.
