I've often wondered, how many members do we have on the Hog...
I reckon there are hundreds/thousands who became members and never use the Forum any more.
I occasionally read the list of members on-line and the birthday list but rarely ever recognise anyone..
I'm permanently loggedin so I guess a lot of these names are maybe non users that have never loggedout..??
Any thoughts..?

UHH has been very informative for me . I don't post much and haven't for a while. Nonetheless I still read every morning. Thanks for great advice.

Although it was overcast the majority of the show it stayed pretty dry. Got some decent shots of the Blue Angels. They put on a great show as always.

Just got to Smokey Mtn National Park today and set Up camp. Took a quick trip threw Cades Cove. We saw 8 bears in 2Hrs. Here’s one of them. We will be here photographing the park for 5 days.

Just left there. 22 bear on Sunday. Came to get pics of cubs ..... success. Love that place.

Hummingbirds are a fascinating subject. Could fill cards with their images. Still working on the perfect shot of their “Top Gun” aerial wars over feeder possession.

Yeah I've been fascinated with their territorial defense of the feeders. The bees don't mind. Lol

Was in Newport NC just prior to Hurricane Dorian coming thru. Caught this female juicing up before the storm. Used Nikon D500 w 200-500mm lens.

I would have agreed with you ... until the next to last day of a recent trip to Yellowstone ... I lugged a bunch a lenses because we were in a van. We saw 3 grizzlies, 2 grey wolves & a bunch of buffalo, all in the same "pasture" with the bears 250 to 300 yards away ... the sun had set & the light was failing fast. That's when I hauled out my 500 mm f/4L prime lens ... & kept shooting even after everyone else had stopped. As a result, I captured a grizzly confronting a grey wolf ... & the male & female grizzlies mating. It took a fair amount of PP & I struggled with some grain, but it was worth lugging that big lens around. My college buddy & a lady standing next to me, both of whom had stopped shooting, wanted copies of my photos when they saw them on the back of the camera. So I say if you have room ... take them. It can't hurt ... & you might get lucky like I did. I wouldn't have gotten them with my 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L lens.
I would have agreed with you ... until the next to... (show quote)

I agree. I brought my 200-500 (w/1.4 teleconverter) . Would not have been able to capture this grizzly without the big one. I also captured a wolf snagging a bison calf.

Haven't been down to Lake Anna. I normally shadow the state parks (Mason Neck, Widewater) and Occoquan Bay national wildlife refuge. Lots of seasonal ospreys and bald eagles as permanent residents.

Live in northern Virginia - the ospreys just started migrating back a few weeks ago. They've been busy rebuilding nests and catching fish. Caught this one snacking. Overcast morning so....not optimum lighting.

My wife and I went on an 8 day tour with a company called Tauck. You should look at the website to get an idea of the places we visited and lodging. Included PEI, Peggy Cove, Bay of Fundy, and whale watching (which is a must!)
