Be sure to visit Zion National Park .... you’ll never forget it. Enter from the southwest side .... and also go out the east side .... that road will have a visually interesting path including going through a mile long tunnel in one of the mountains made in the early 1930’s.

Thank you for your reply. I have a D7100 I bought in 2012 and also their 60 mm micro lens and a zoom lens I bought around 1991 when I had a N90 film camera. I started with Kodachrome slide film in 1962 when my grandfather gave me his Argus C4.

What is your light source ? ... what you did looks great. I have an old Nikon slide scanner I bought about 15 years ago ... it is slow ... I averaged about 10 to 13 an hour ... when a slide was being scanned ... I was doing photo tweaking on the prior scanned slide with Photoshop ... the results are great .... bu I have a lot more slides to do.

I’ve been using InkOwl.com ink in their refillable cartridges for about 2 years ..... and have been really happy with them ...... and it dropped my ink cost to about 10% of Epson’s cost .... I have an Epson R2880 .... when I did the first photo print with the Ink Owl ink .... it was the same photo as done with the Epson ink .... and I was not able to discern any difference .... even with good lighting. My printer has 8 cartridges and it takes about an hour to refill them.

If you are wanting to be able to read/document what is on old tombstones which are eroded to the point of being difficult to be legible .... my wife and I had heard about using a piece of chalk (like was used on the school blackboards decades ago) .... we used yellow sidewalk chalk ... and place the long side of it on the surface of the tombstone and rubbing it over the surface .... the chalk doesn’t go into the engraved letters and dates .... we tried it and it worked ... and future thunderstorm rains will wash the chaulk off .... my wife and I along with her 4 siblings and 2 nephews and a niece toured 6 of their ancestral cemeteries in rural NE Ohio .... and used this method only on those tombstones which were not very legible .... and it worked ... I was documenting everyting with my Nikon DSLR .... and my wife’s nephew used my digital camcorder to capture his mom, aunts, uncles memories as they were standing at their ancestral tombstones ... and at each tombstone he would also scan over to the entrance .... so someone watching the eventual DVD 100 years from now could see where the tombstone is in the cemetery .... and back at the car ... I used the camcorder to zoom in on the GPS .... and zoomed the GPS in and out .... so someone later could find the cemetery .... the oldest cemetery we were at was a family plot on the edge of a farmer’s field .... on a gravel road ... there was no church built in the area yet. The bottom line was that I made 22 sets of Photo Discs and DVD’s to pass out at their next family gathering .... for each of my wife’s generation and the next generation. And I used disc’s with a white printable surface and an Epson printer and software to make and print the labels using an ink which Epson says will last up to 200 years.

I am suggesting Skyline Drive too .... but also ... just west of the first exit going south (at least years ago) .... is Luray, Virginia .... and Luray Caverns .... I am 75 ... I went with my parents in 1962 ..... and then in 1980 with my wife and 2 sons .... and again in 2006 with our daughter ... for each of those trips we stayed at the Luray Motel ... adjacent to downtown ....there are other newer motels ... the reason I took them there was to duplicate my early memories. The Luray Caverns is worth the visit .... we went there after checking into the motel. The last tour of the cavern .... was shorter in length.

There is a great camera shop in on the east side of Kent, Ohio .... Campus Camera .... ask for Dan Demshar ... who is the son of the owner .... I’ve been dealing with him for 30 years. Phone (330) 678-1297 ... 1645 E. Main St., Kent, OH 45240 .... I used to work in the next town east of their shop. I am a retired Aeronautical Engineer ... and moved to the SW ... 2,000 miles away .... but I still go to Dan for my camera needs.

I have had 3 different Epson printers which could print 13” x 19” sheets .... when the nozzles plugged up on the first one and I could not clear them ... I bought the next model .... and eventually a few years later the same thing happened .... and then bought a R2880, which I am still using ... I went through a lot of cartridges .... eventually I researched refillable cartridges and inks .... and about 3 years ago bought www.InkOwl.com .... and I compared the color print to the same image done with the Epson ink .... and I could not discern a difference. I’ve been happy with InkOwl ... it has dropped my ink costs by about 90% .... but it does take about an hour to refill all 8 cartridges. I lay a plastic trash bag on the counter for my work area ... in case of a spill ... which has not happened so far.

With the 2 large, heavy duty latches on the front ...... I wonder if it is meant to push barges .... I entered the city you mentioned in Australia into Google maps .... and there is a large river (Clarence River) going thru that city.

FYI - One of the best Lightning Strike Photos ever .... do a Google Search on:
Lightning strike Photo, July 1993, National Geographic
I have that issue ... and it shows lightning striking a tree ... and on its way down from the sky ... it pulled up a couple of streamers from the ground .... one from a house’s tv antenna and another from a tree .... and the leader connected with one of 2 streamers from the tree ..... and then the high current return stroke happpened. This was done with a film camera ..... the guy had his camera on a tripod in his truck in the country .... shooting through his open side window .... using a cable shutter release ..... he’d open the shutter (at night) and wait for lightning to happen, close the shutter .... advance the film and get ready for the next shot .... I received that issue before leaving for a major meeting of lightning protection of aircraft experts from England, France and the U.S. ... about 24 guys to meet at Pittsfield, Massachusetts where Lightning Technologies Lightning Lab is located. I passed that magazine around to all the attendees. The above Search will show that Photo.
