While the Brooklyn Bridge is a must, walking across the Manhattan Bridge gives you great scenes of both downtown and the Brooklyn Bridge. Chinatown and lower east side. Are great for street photography. James Maher is particularly helpful for basics to street photography and great areas to shoot in lower Manhattan.
I’ve seen apps that make the cell phone more than simply a point and shoot. If they can figure out how to increase the sensor... who knows. But in the future, something will replace the cell phone.
If you enjoy street photography, don’t miss Chinatown and The Lower East Side. Brooklyn also has some amazing areas. Are you getting the sense that 5 days doesn’t touch the surface. Consider a bus tour so you know where to come back to on your next visit
I am an amateur who simply enjoys the hobby. The more I get into the post processing, the more I see the benefits but the more I realize that I don’t enjoy it nearly as much as I enjoy taking photographs. Of course professionals need to understand tech, just like an airline pilot need to understand why and how a plane flies, amateurs need to understand how to have fun found whatever they choose.
I love the Olympus omd line. The camera and lenses to get would be based on your budget and desire for quality but all are great.
Are you taking pictures for judges or for yourself? I happen to enjoy taking landscape, travel and street photographs. I have found photgraphs that moved me in all subjects, as well as photographs that didn’t.
I am just beginning to get involved in post processing. Looking for a SIMPLE introduction to photoshop elements. Any suggestions?
I’m just getting started in post processing and am about to purchase Photoshop Elements 2018. For $30 more I can also get premiere elements. Please explain what that offers. Thank you
I agree. The canon sx50 is a great, little camera. It’s wonderful for travel. Not the best in low light. However, the Olympus is a better camera for travel. If you simply don’t want to change lenses, let’s me know. I’ll be happy the trade my sx50 and em10 for your em1
I had a canon sx50 bridge camera which was great for travel but limited in low light. When I decided to move up I went to an Olympus emd10 mark ii that is their low end mirror less but they have a great variety of lenses. If you want to go even smalle and don't mind the lack of an eyepiece, take a look at their pen cameras
The Canon sx50 is better than the sx60 and used or refurbished ones are easy to come by at a good price
I mean Olympus em10 m ii. Damn spell check!
The Olympus em10 moo is a great camera and relatively cheap. I use a Pasonic 20mm when the light gets low. If you are looking for inexpensive, and you have enough light, the 12-50mm kit lens does a fine job
I use my Olympus em10 mark ii primarily for travel photography. The Olympus 40-150 is lighter. The Panasonic 45-200 has greater range. Since I don't need both lenses, I'm trying to decide which to keep. Any thoughts?
