I downloaded LR 5 a few years back, did an upgrade last year to LR 6 (paid $79) and I'm unable to access LR now. I was told at a camera shop the reason for this is I need to get the monthly version of LR for 9.99 per month since Adobe only offers it in that capacity. I realize it's a powerful program but since I am a hobbyist, I don't want to go this route so I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a useable alternative to LR program that is effective for post processing. Thank you in advance for your response.

Thanks again for all the tips, suggestions, and technical advice. I decided to order the 77d! The price was right for the upgrade of features I desired but I think I will keep my t3i as a backup since I'm so familiar with it when using it and has served me well. When I left my job, I decided to pursue photography. The event space at BH Photo in NYC was offering a portfolio development program for FREE! I gained so much from that experience but sadly never finished because my mom was sick and died. But it was a great springboard to the world of photography so if anyone lives near NYC, look it up. The program is in its 3rd or 4th year and begins in the late summer, early fall and lasts for a year with all kinds of required projects that makes one think and DO! Each month there are lots of other classes at the event space on the second floor of BH Photo where one can register to attend that are all FREE! Great opportunity for photogs. I once went on a photo walk with a group through Central Park with Moose Peterson. The key is to register ASAP when the listing goes up because it fills up fast. Oh well, enough said for this post. Have a grateful day!

When it comes to friendship, money matters, borrowing, and things of this nature should be avoided. Enjoy the friendship and wedding and be stress free.

thank you.....all your stated reasons for liking it are exactly what I've been thinking about! I also like the idea of the lighter body. Thanks to all who responded so far. It's greatly appreciated.

The 77D is on sale for $649 at BH Photo which seems to be an affordable upgrade. They offered to give me $175 for my Canon t3i and 18-55mm kit lens. I'm considering it but then I do hate to part with the t3i since I learned on it and I can always gift it to my grandkids when/if they ever have an interest in photography.

I'd appreciate reviews on Canon 77d if anyone owns it? Thinking of upgrading from a Canon t3i.

Thanks, your suggestion for IS makes sense so I may have to save a bit more toward it. I've seen the Tokina priced in that range, too, so Im in the process of gathering as much info before making a decision.

Any suggestions for a macro lens that has worked for you in the range of $400 for shooting insects, critters, nature? Also would like to use it for portraits. Checked the Tamron 180mm lens but there is no VR and read autofocus is slow yet this range is recommended because of the needed distance from camera to subject when photographing small, moving insects. Is VR and autofocus real matters to consider when doing macro because of the recommended use of a tripod? Thanks in advance for your responses.

Yes, I agree. I just found out there is a 6 month warranty on used items from mpb. Also,I was looking on line and found a few problem cases. It is a gamble and your response just confirmed what I've been thinking in the past 10 minutes! Thanks a bunch.

I recently contacted mpb.com for a quote on my Canon t3i and two kit lenses, 18-55mm and 55-250mm. They offered $280 for the kit. They also have 3 80d's in stock at $899 each. Just wondering if anyone has dealt with this company? I figured for only $600 I can upgrade to another body instead of buying new to the tune of $1100. I'm a bit concerned about warranty which I am waiting for an answer to. Any advice appreciated!

Susan, my eye goes directly to the red barn in the second picture and then begins looking around . It speaks to me of dormancy and isolation in a dying season. I think the red barn in the background makes it very effective. Thanks for sharing
