I have a phone app called Seek by iNaturalist that identifies this spider as a Nordmann's Orbweaver. If not for this app it would otherwise just be another SPIDER!!!!

My phone app called "Seek" identifies the pale blue flowers as Mountain bluebells, as well.

This looks a lot like ash, any wildfires nearby? Ash can be carried for miles!

Can you tell me a good area in SW Texas to photograph birds in March?

Check out the Great Texas Wildlife Trails website, which divides the state into nine regions with interactive maps.

Great photos! I have lens envy. Enjoy the new toy!

Thanks for the feedback. After working about 3 months of extended hours (12 hours/7 days a week), my wife let me treat myself to an early Father's Day. The newest second generation version of this lens (Tamron 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2) is everything I want or need.

Very beautiful, GBoy53!

Thanks. Hope to revisit the marsh soon and hike to some of the more remote areas. Might have to drag the grandkids along for some electronics-free entertainment.

Beautiful images, GBoy53!

Thanks. Its been reported that there is a small group of bald eagles nesting in the trees along the northern perimeter of the marsh. Rare for this area but maybe I'll get lucky and catch a glimpse. Can't get too many eagle photos!

Good job gboy...the lighting is beautiful!

Thank you! Had to wait out a passing shower. Thankfully, no bugs and a few degrees cooler. Very enjoyable evening in SE Texas.

Thanks, we (my wife and I) saw several more bird species there, but I only posted a few.
