I saw him and Pee Wee Reese, "Campy", Clem Labine, the great Jackie Robinson, and the rest of our favorite Bums play at Ebbets field when i was a kid. We e joyed every game.

I followed the Dodgers as best I could in the ‘40s and ‘50s (until they moved) on the radio from my home 90 miles away in the Catskill mountains. Ironically, my mother entered me in a drawing and I won a trip to see the Yankees play - I booed them. I haven’t had much interest in baseball since.

Interesting car Tom, you captured it well. I agree with Barbara its ugly. If I had the money for that, I would go shopping for a restored 300 SL

I agree except I’d like a Jag XKSS (altho a D Type would do). Unfortunately the current auction estimate on the XKSS is $16-18mil.

When driving from Phoenix to Tucson, Picacho Peak is a landmark that you’re nearing the end of your trip. Just north of there is a prime area for dust storms. You captured a nice view with all those Spring flowers.

Nice with the ocotillo in bloom. I miss spring in the desert.

Really neat engine. Appears to be 2 dual overhead cam 4 cylinder engines Siamesed. Looks similar to the Offenhauser engines that ran at Indy and most dirt tracts in the 50s but I don’t think they were around this early.

I rarely download free programs on my computers since they often come with multiple other downloads I don’t want and lots of pop-up ads. Also, there can always be hidden files that malware programs miss.

You can drive to Durango, take a bus to Silverton and the train back to Durango. Durango per se has lots of photo ops especially since the train comes straight into down town in the center of the road. Some local folks are picturesque but a bit testy about being photographed. I got one nice shot of 3 locals on a front porch after chatting them up for a while with my camera slung at my side.

I was next door to Aberdeen PG from 1958-60 at Edgewood Arsenal as a personnel specialist in the Army Chemical Corps (but not involved in the notorious experiments conducted there).

In the 1950s, Madame Bovary was banned from the U.S. mail - reread it while you still can (legally). The Ogden Nash book must have been a fun read.

That will cause a lot of problems as I believe no hazardous materials are allowed in either tunnel under the harbor on 95.

They will have to go the long way (West) around the Beltway.
