I'm wondering if the dot at about 11 O'Clock from Saturn (I con only see it when I download) is Titan or just a bit of sensor noise?

I believe it's sensor noise. I don't think the exposure was long enough to get any moons

On July 7, I finally got skies that were relatively good for Galveston Island. I didn't want to drag out the C11, so I opted to experiment with my Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens with a Canon 60Da. With some close cropping I managed to get what made me happy with the performance of the lens.

Really nice. I would have removed the truck, though.

I agree, but thought it would disappear in the shadows.

It's been awhile that I've been in a place that gets good sunsets several times a week consistently.

I am sorry, according to the date it hasn't happened yet. 2069?

That would be 100 years

The news just said you got upwards of 23". Being from Colorado/Arizona that would equal several years precipitation. Stay safe.

Too true Jerry ... but the real question (just to stir up controversy) is whether those cameras should be DSLRs or mirrorless?

Or Bud Lite or Micro brew

Did you have the camera on a tripod/mount or hand held? I like the color you got and the sharpness is pretty good. I agree that more frames are needed in the stack as the atmosphere really plays tricks on us. Either that or invest in some Adaptive Optics 😎😎

Thanks, Europa.

I do have an AVX mount that I can put my camera on. I will try that next.

I have a few questions about using the AVX:

How much better a photograph can I expect with tracking? Any possibility of seeing any detail on Jupiter?

How critical is polar alignment when shooting with a 300mm lens?

Any recommendations for exposure if I am using a tracking mount?

I think you'd be asking too much to get any detail with a 300mm lens, but trying different combinations of camera settings might work. You did very well with what you have. Jupiter is so bright longer exposures aren't necessary. I might try stopping down the lens a bit and taking several shots and stack them.
