You already have all 3 components on hand ?

If so, then no need to report my experience, which would just be second hand news.

I too don’t understand the need for the OP to ask the question when he already has the 3 components and can simply try themself. Oh well.

So I am looking at an item on Amazon. It states the seller is Adorama. I have never purchased anything from Adorama. Free shipping and free returns via Amazon is a benefit. Would anyone share their experience please. I did a search on Adorama but the posts were old. Thanks.

Highly reputable. I have purchased from them at their brick and mortar store in NYC. Have also ordered from them directly online. Always a positive experience.

I was recently diagnosed via biopsy with basal cell skin cancer between my nose and my camera eye (left). I had an MRI yesterday and will get the result (probably) on Tuesday when I see the dermatologist who will do Mohs surgery, tentatively scheduled for early next month. If the worst scenario occurs, how will I continue taking pictures? I tried to look through my right eye as an experiment and it just seemed too weird.

Having experienced something similar I can tell you that any discomfort will be very much temporary. You will be able to go back to using your left eye as normal within a few weeks. Please do not let your mind churn on this as that is no good and worse for you than the actual procedure and recovery. All will be fine. Good luck.

Our 16 year old granddaughter has requested some kind of digital camera for Christmas, she wants one that is lightweight but still has ISO/aperture/shutter speed controls. It should accept filters but does not necessarily need to support interchangeable lenses, but a step up from iPhone or point-and-shoot cameras. (I think lightweight is a key consideration.)

One that she suggested is the NEZINI 4K digital camera, not a brand I am familiar with.

Any suggestions?

Please see this article I came across on petapixel when I searched on Nezini.

I’m a Nikon guy so I don’t know much about your system. But I do have the Nikon version of the 24-70 2.8 and I have used it for most of my street photography and festivals doing my travels. It went with me to Europe and many of the states here in the USA. I wouldn’t give it up for anything unless it was for an upgrade to the VR one that’s out now. It gives me some wide angle plus some tele pass 50mm. It’s just a very good walk around lens.

I would also consider the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4. I know it’s not a 2.8 but it takes fantastic pictures. I have used it at fairs on my R5.

Check out their latest Youtube video. Granted, it is clickbait and whether it may affect Canon is pure speculation. But... the how of it interests me. The time horizon of functioning ILC Android phones/cameras as early as next year... wow! If it happens, I'm guessing it will be the dawn of a new age when coupled with AI.

The Zeiss ZX-1 has an android OS and doesnt seem to be all that great of a camera. Wonder if given the Sony relationship this was a sandbagged version of something great.

I am in the process of wanting to purchase a new 35mm lens and have it narrowed down to these 3. Sigma f1.4, Tamron f1.4 or Nikon f1.4. Anyone have experience with these and can make a recommendation?

Whilst I am a Canon shooter I have used the Tamron 35mm 1.4 and found it to be an excellent lens. Even used it against the very highly rated Canon 35mm 1.4 L II and found it quite competitive. Also very well built and solid in the hand.

I have recently seen the Tamron for sale at B&H and Adorama for $699. This is a great price for a superb lens. I would grab one.

I got a form letter that really didn’t address my issue.

By law, banks must provide an explanation for declining your application. It may be a form letter but there must always be a reason. For example, too much revolving debt, past delinquencies, etc. I know this as I have been in the banking field many years as a regulatory compliance officer. Perhaps you may want to read that letter again.

Adorama contacted me via email about purchasing used equipment. I was willing to sell then a Hasselblad H3D II 39mp kit. I had purchased the body, prizim, and back from them a couple of years ago for $3495 . I had added a 80mm lens, Imagebank, extra batteries, AC power adapter and a zero halibuton case. i have shot less than 500 images with this camera since purchase. There offer was a $1000 for the whole enchilada. The lens alone is going for 800-1100 on ebay. I understand they have to make a profit but this is kind of excessive, other photogs at UH I'm sure have used them, are yall ok with taking this kind of beating and is this standard procedure from the used equipment buyers?

I have historically found that MPB and KEH offer way more for my used equipment than B&H, Adorama and Unique Photo with some minor exceptions here and there. Most quotes generated online at those two are usually spot on with the final offer. I, too, don't love the idea of shipping them but it is always insured and has worked out fine when I have done so.

Agreed, but the 24-105 is very versatile lens with IS which makes it even usable in low light. Not the preferred lens for wildlife or sports (or macro), but the 70-200 f2.8L (my second place suggestion), is awfully heavy/large for a walk around lens, and the long telephotos (such as the 100-400L) have similar limitations. Remember, he can only have one lens initially. It’s by no means my favorite lens, but the one I would pick if going out the door, not knowing what I was going to shoot.

What is your favorite lens and why?

Happy 4th of July weekend to all.

I own the Canon R5 and simply love it. The Canon RF L lens line up is amazing but also pricey. I was wondering what folks might choose if they could only have one RF L lens.

Thanks to those that share their thoughts. Cheers!

Thanks for the images. They turned out nice- sorry about the Cozumel images.
I ordered a Olympus TG-6 from Walmart that had it listed for $409.00

I bought the TG-6 a few years ago and have used many times when snorkeling. I am more than happy with the results and don’t think you will be dissatisfied. Enjoy your trip.

I have two that I have used extensively and like them immensely. I recently posted wood duck pictures with the RF 800. It is sharp, extremely light, and a bit quirky. A fun lens to use that gets you to 800mm cheaper than any option I know of.

Until my buddy show me how sharp his images were with the RF 24-240, I never would have considered the lens. Because of it's range, it is my walk around lens.

I have not used the RF 85mm but I would be surprised if it did not render a quality image. My suggestion is to purchase one from a reputable merchant that accepts returns, such as B&H. Save the packing and put the lens through it's paces. Then decide. I doubt you will return the lens. I think what you will find is that you have good optics in a lighter, non weatherproofed body, that does not have the fast apertures, trucklike build, or the Nth performance factor of their "L" counterparts. I suspect you will be happy with the tradeoffs.

Thank you Irvin. Maybe I will try again. I loved the optics. Maybe the green tint can be chalked up to a bad copy
