The Bachelor didn't turn out that well this season;
I do wish this couple well -
You're making me homesick for the days I used to ride horses around Casper, WY at my aunt and uncles every summer - can't get any better than being around horses in the wide open spaces -
You nailed it Rowedean - that photo speaks volumes for today, Christmas Day -
May you have a very wonderful happy and fruitful New Year -
We've been feeding and nurturing your cat for 10 years now; sorry, she's not returnable now; oh, and thanks for letting us enjoy her company --
Loved your photocat humor --
Dress code on the southern california beaches hasn't changed much since the 50s;
spent time on the beaches in the 50s and 60s from Muscle Beach to Santa Barbara; when you're on the beach every day you hardly pay attention to what people wear - it's normal every day stuff -
volley ball and surfing were pretty much everywhere and weight lifting was THE THING at Muscle Beach.
Southern California beaches are hard to beat ---good beaches with food available, warm water and wave action - a trio thats hard to replicate anywhere else in the country.
Great shots! These are the types of shots that demand B&W; color just gets in the way,
B&W is my choice but I'm a biased B&W guy from the 50s;Both are good shots; Would be an interesting location for IR
Great set! The 9th one of the downtown street scene was a keeper!
Looks like you did pretty good to me;
Pattaya has grown alot since I visited there a couple of times during the Vietnam War;
was stationed nearby at Sattahip at the Army's 9th Logistical Command depot.
Having spent a lot of time on the beaches of southern California, Santa Barbara, Ventura Rincon, Santa Monica & Malibu, I can attest to the age differences but when you're enjoying yourself you really hardly notice or pay any attention to the differences; and, I must say some of the oldsters are in pretty good physical condition -
Thanks for the photos of southern California - an excellent study of the culture and lifestyle there
A great place to visit! Went there with a group and didn't have enough time to see all the museum well enough; need to go back and spend more time
They were training future Indy Car drivers when we were there,
For me I'd travel light and at the most take a couple of extra charged batteries, and assuming you camera holds two cards, a couple of extra sets;
But having said that, I'd photograph like a did in my many earlier years with 120/220 film - I'd take fewer but more meaningful pictures;
The selective photos I took in the film days mean much more now than the 100s I snap away on a digital camera;
Plus, on a trip like that you get back home and ask "where was that picture taken?", "what was that about?" etc. Those are really the kind you don't need.
I'm usually using a 7100 and can easily last 3 days on one charge with 100s of pictures.
Have a good trip - you're going to enjoy it however you do it!
These are great James; we went there a few months ago and also to Campbells Station Country Store up the way from there for a good steak dinner; the ice cream shop across from the depot ain't no slouch either; keep up the pics in and around TN - love them from Huntsville
Great set of pictures and thanks for the history; I remember my uncle telling me of his visit to the caverns early on before there was an elevator and no lights; you carried your own light and walked/climbed down and walked/climbed back out -- quite an adventurous all day trip in those days. I've been there several times over the years and am ever always amazed at the spectacular beauty of it all
