In October of this year, I will be spending six days in Prague and then six days in Budapest. I am very excited, I have not been to either city before. I am looking for suggestions on where to go, and what places are photographically compelling. Many thanks in advance for your help.

Went to both over XMas a couple years ago. In Prague be sure to go to Old Town Square (at night!) and go to the top of the Town Hall tower. Fabulous night shots. In Budapest be sure to take a dinner cruise on thee Danube (Be sure it's dark). Plenty more great night shots. I've attached a few.

If a roundabout bothers you, let's hope you don't encounter a Double Crossover Diamond interchange. Traffic coming at you on the right side of the road!

War story. I apologize in advance if this gets a little long.

My father was a B-17 pilot in WWII. On his first (and only) combat mission he flew out of southern Italy in July '44 to bomb a critical oil refinery in Ploesti, Romania. The Romanians were allied with the Germans. He got shot down and taken to a POW camp in Romania. There were a few hundred B-24 crews there, veterans of the earlier B-24 raid on Ploesti. A few months later the Russians were approaching so the Romanians ran away, and the prisoners were freed, eventually ending up in Cairo, Egypt. The 15th Air Force in Italy shut down all bomber operations so they could fly every available aircraft to Cairo to ferry the former POWs back to Italy. My father said that all of the B-24 crews refused to fly out on the B-24 because they didn't trust it. They flew out on the B-17s instead. I've never heard that mentioned in any of the B-24 documentaries I have seen.

I have been told by more than a few people that, well, humble I am not. Therefore I have settled on IMEO - In My Esteemed Opinion.

From '81 through '83 I was stationed at Wright-Patterson AFB and was assigned to the the program office responsible for B-52 development. Back then we had received an unsolicited proposal from Boeing to re-engine the aircraft with four CFM-56 high-bypass turbofan engines. We didn't do it because at that time there were still parts available for the engines. Today, not so much.

There are times for reversing it - shooting (anything), for example. "Looking cool" is not a valid reason.

I learned to not wear a hat backward when shooting after I had a hot piece of brass lodge between my face and my safety glasses. Still got the scar.

As I was departing the subway earlier this morning, the woman alongside of me walked her phone into the backpack of the man in front of her and dropped it between the train and the platform. I decided to shoot people looking at their phones when they should have had a modicum of situational awareness, especially on the subways, or when crossing the street. My camera has a fixed 28, and on the street I did not stop to shoot, just fired as I walked along. I took maybe 25 to 30 shots, but I will only include a few of the most egregious. My editing was minimal. Just trying to make a point.

I’ve always felt that if I were suddenly granted Almighty powers and could go back and un-invent something, it wouldn’t be nuclear weapons. It would be the cell phone.

In my private practice I treated a lot of engineers from one of the areas large military contracting companies. They tended to be fairly technically oriented (bringing in spreadsheets of their BP readings, etc...). As I was applying liquid nitrogen to some precancerous spots on one such patient's face, he asked how cold it was. I said "minus 320 degrees". He responded while flinching a little from the pain: "Is that Fahrenheit or centigrade"? My response: "Does it really matter to you right now"?

He must not have been too much of an engineer. Absolute zero is -273.15 degrees C. -320 degrees C is not even theoretically possible.

I've seen enough reports like this, so I got rid of my 27 year old compressor and bought a new one. I also spent around $10 on Amazon for an automatic compressor drain valve. Every 45 minutes it burps the drain for 0.5 seconds so no water will accumulate. Best money I have ever spent.

His career is probably over. I'm really sorry for the family of the woman that was k**led and the wounded person.
Someone is going to own his a$$! Being a total jerk and a$$hole with and to people sometimes brings Karma
down on the jerk. Pay-back is a bit@h!
The thought occurred to me that someone who was tired of how he treated people may have set him up.
However, apparently, he had to pull the trigger. Why was the gun pointed at someone in the crew?
That had to be his fault.

It is not uncommon in movies for the gun to be pointed at the camera, giving the audience the sensation the gun was pointed at them. The camera operators job is thus in the line of (supposedly safe) fire. The director is often directly behind the camera operator. The wound to the camera operator was a through-and-through, continuing on to also hit and wound the director.
