Popular Photography has just posted guidance on how to disinfect your gear at https://www.popphoto.com/story/how-to/lensrentals-roger-cicala-how-to-disinfect-camera-gear/

I've had some good luck using Fabreze on the case and exterior of the camera minus the lens.

Sometimes the facts of life are not in our favor. I've paid less than the appraised value for most of the cameras in my collection. The appraisal group I rely on is made up of collectors who have been collecting for 30-40 years. You can try listing it on Etsy - their asking prices are quite a bit higher. I have no info on how many actually sell at the asking price.

You might want to check the sale prices of this camera on e-Bay. With the defects you cited, particularly not knowing if the meter works, you might be lucky to sell it for $100. e-Bay is being flooded with classic film cameras as the cameras in smart-phones continue to improve. I collect 35mm classic film cameras. I paid $46 for mine and added a 50mm f/1.4 lense for $35 more. While it's true that the all-black model is a bit pricier than the chrome version, the camera appraisal site I used places the value at $146 for a camera in "good" condition. Good luck on finding a buyer - JRH

Number 7 has to take the prize. I've done electrical work since I was in the Electrical Science class in high school. This monstrosity beats anything I've seen since then.

I have a chance to buy a D7000 in good operating condition...approx. 30k shutter clicks. Seller asking $200.
I would use as backup body.

Would like to hear from present (and past) users if D7000 is still a viable camera or if it's "over the hill".

You might want to checkout Cameta Camera. They sell for very good prices and offer a 1-year warranty on their used cameras.

I collect 35mm film cameras. As a general rule, anything built prior to about 1975 is labelled vintage. As you can guess, it's a sliding scale. As time passes, the "vintage" date changes. I've encountered offers that were labelled "vintage camera" only to find that the seller is offering a digital camera from 2010. So, I guess you could say that the term means different things to different people. Ditto with the term "antique". I've seen it applied to 25-year old items - really??

I also subscribed to Pop Photo and Shutterbug; and had remaining issues transferred to Outdoor Photog which I also subscribed to. I won't be renewing Outdoor Photog. I expect it to go under by the end of 2019. Would like to subscribe to N-Photo; but it's just too expensive. There are several first-rate photo sites on the web that are basically free. I miss the hard-copy photo mags of old. They were thick and the content was not only usable, but also enjoyable. With current photog mags, I feel like I'm paying for ads and the articles are just added as an after-thought. Just my 2 cents.

If you read it more closely you'll find that they only produce B&W slides since the color dies are no longer available.

Concur. Best walk-around lens I've ever used.

ermmmm no physical disability.... more like an intense disappointment with my results when I do photograph something. I am not really sure why. I feel like I am looking for something that is extraordinary, but I have no idea how to get to that "road". I don't really want to give up. The artist is in me.... I can feel it. But I also feel like I am sitting here in my den, paints in hand with a black white canvas and no $^&^ idea what to paint. Interpretation: open camera bag, get out camera, stare at it for 5 minutes, and put it away again. :)

Maybe I have become WAY too self critical.... maybe I am burned out right now? The answer just isn't here right now.

Sounds familiar. I, too, experienced that (and still do most of the time). Doctor diagnosed depression. Since cause is external, there's not much I can do about it. Your telling about getting the camera out and looking at it - then putting it away without using it is spot on. I've got a brand new D7000 with the 18-140mm lens. It's a great combo and I should be using it. I hear the same voices telling me I'm never going to produce the level of work I see presented here or in the Nat Geo and similar sites - so why bother! It's frustrating. Since I have no control over the things that are putting me in a depressive state of mind, I do nothing. Suggest you see your doctor about your problems. He may be able to help.

Cheers - JRH

Interesting...
It surely brings a few sentiments of "Deja Vu", but I can not associate it to anything.
I read and loved Foundation trilogy (and the other books by Asimov), all amazing.
I do remember something I read that some people that lived on Earth,
like Jules Verne (quite fantastic predictions, heh ?), Newton, etc. et al.,
being extraterrestrials. Maybe I read it from some old French magazine
"Planète" (Louis Pauwels and Jacques Bergier) or some of their books ("Der
planet der ümmoglisch moglischkeiten" or "Le Matin des Magiciens" ?).

If you discover any answer to your question, please let me know where
I can watch to it.

It was supposed to be a Gene Roddenbury series; but it ended up being a made-for-TV movie titled The Questor Tapes. I found a copy on Amazon. It runs about 1 hour and 36 minutes.

Sounds like the TV show The Quester Tapes by Gene Roddenbury. They weren't aliens, they were androids - just like Quester. It ended up as a made for TV movie if memory serves.

You will find the Nikon provided manual confusing and difficult to use in setting up your camera for different shooting scenarios. I would strongly advise that you buy Busch's User Manual for the D7200. He has a very clear and easily understood writing style and tells you how to use the various settings together to get the results you want. I've had 2 Nikon digitals so far and his manuals were invaluable.

It's only dead because our Forum software dropped the ending. Type it in and it works. The T-5 is the same as the T-50.
