Possibly interested in Olympus, Canon and Fuji depending on what it is. I’m sorry your health is forcing you to sell.

Love the colors! So difficult to obtain true ocean and sky colors. What software did you use to edit the shot? I find I’m more and more drawn to smartphone photography when traveling. Just don’t like lugging my big and heavy Canon R5. Thx

I have read about how Fuji digital cameras have built-in film simulations in JPG, allowing a photographer to select, for example, a Velvia-like appearance. Does anyone know, or have, recipes for creating similar simulations in Sony digital cameras? I have the A7CR and A7R4, and they allow me to select a "creative look", such as Vivid, and then to select a wide range of variables in contrast, highlights, shadow, saturation, and sharpness. Of course, this only works in JPG. But since I shoot mostly in JPG, and like playing around witih the Creative Looks, I wonder if there are some recipies for creating specific films looks using those adjustable parameters. Thanks in advance.

Glad you asked the question. I have a A7CR and would also love to know if anyone has developed any pre-sets to apply when importing in, that would give a Velvia slide look.

My wife are planning on a fall trip to the Finger Lakes and Adirondack. We are planning around first couple of weeks of October.
We are thinking of Watkins Glen, Letchworth St park. Suggestions on other must stops and maybe some helpful suggestions on lodging. We are not campers, being in our mid 70s. thanks

Unfortunately the high peaks area of the Adirondacks may be past peak by then. Try for late September or early October. It will all depend on the amount of rain they get during the year, the quality of their color. I’ve had too many years rained out bc I’m limited to weekend shooting. If it stays warmer longer, like in recent years, you’ll probably be good with early October.

I had to put my 2 pound, 17 year old Yorkie to sleep today. Give your pets an extra hug tonight. Can't say more because it's hard to see what I'm typing when my eyes are raining.

I’m sorry for your loss. I know the pain of saying goodbye to a family member. Our fur babies are so innocent, trusting and depending on us. It’s never easy to say goodbye for awhile. I’m in my early 70’s and wonder how empty my remaining life might be without a pet companion. I know I will not raise another kitten; unless I join a rescue group.

I have been thinking, as I age, to adopt an aged pet or one in medical need of that final loving home. Or helping with a cat/kitten rescue group. Perhaps those options might work for me or others. I too, don’t want to leave a confused beloved pet behind..

Trying a little more subtle moving of some adjustment sliders takes me back to Grahame's look on page 4. --. https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/tpr?p=14297441&t=792684

Grahame shows what can be Deer 1, Deer 2, Deer 3, Deer 4.
Deer 1 is pretty obvious.

Not certain where the yellow outline of Deer 2 body actually should be. Seems it was not illuminated to the same level as Deer 3 and 4.

Deer 3, outlined in white, appears to have some portions of lower legs/feet visible.

Deer 4 shows a flank and hind leg.

The green line marks what appears to be where the ground drops down in the more faint image of Deer 2, 3, and 4.

If any of this is close to the truth, it is understandably conceivable there is a double image here, but the camera position and subject to camera distance do not seem to be identical in both.
There is also a distinct horizontal line straight across the upper portion quite near the top (if you look closely), which seems to indicate double exposure where the two images are not indexed exactly alike in that upper area.

Thx again for your continued thoughts. I do see the horizontal line across the top that might indicate a double exposure. I will share these diagrams with my friend and the owner to get their opinion and obtain some further info: photo in the light, she was camera last moved, any other deer images on their card and how far back from the buck does the ground drop off and how much. Thx again. I find this fascinating too.

Do they have pics taken in daylight with that same camera setup, same position, height, angle, etc., so it would be possible to look at what objects may be visible in mid- and background?

Probably the answer to this one is "no"...is there any cropping that's been done to the image you show?

It's an interesting case to consider and reconsider.

I will ask about a daylight pic to help see the possible scene. There was no cropping done. Obtaining more info is being delayed due to the holiday and travel. Thx so much for your interest and ideas!

This appears to be a special case of internal reflection inside the lens called “ghosting”. This can cause bright objects from outside the field of view to be captured by the lens and reflected internally, finally reaching the sensor. Internal reflections occur inside all lens, but most of the time are too low to be perceived. The following link gives further discussion, by Michael C[lark] regarding this effect.

In the case of the field camera, the second deer was likely just outside the field of view of the lens when the camera flashed. The flash hitting the second deer made it bright enough to be sensed by the sensor.

Very interesting and technical idea. I like the notion of the reflection. But I wonder about the red color and the multiple deer, deer head images, that others have found with some more processing?
Here is a personal example of this effect. The circled objects were not in the field of view of the lens, but found their way into the image via internal reflections.

Not buying that. Its a trail camera. Theres no actual eye witnesses. An automated camera doesnt just make stuff up. And peeps who post their puzzlement on UHH often have no great claims to reliable info.

I cant be 100% sure of anything about it, but I know where the lesser and greater degrees of credibilty are found.

All Im saying is that between a robot and a Hawgster, history favors the robot. Personally, Im not even convinced that the background shape should be seen as an animal, sorta like seeing shapes in the clouds or in wood grain, etc. just imaginitive interpretation.

My friend says that she can see a large face of deer somewhere in the image. I’ve tried to see that but can’t. What I find unique is that his doe appears to be made up of leaves or brush, as in a ghost image. I agree, they can’t be 100% sure. Thx

Aside from, or in addition to the solar lights, are there any lighted decorations, or other lights that project their beams out that direction?

....any security lights, (probably a different Kelvin scale temp than the camera light), maybe even mounted at roof height or higher, that spill light out that direction through foliage or something that can make "patterns on the wall", so to speak?

I will check with my friend and see. I know that the field cam is located at the back of their property and away from their home. So far, the only extra lighting, that I know of, are the solar lights behind the storage shed.

If a double exposure is in play here, the disproportion question still remains. The neck of the "doe" is quite long for that of a typical doe. It is more like the appearance of a llama or elk, if we are to imagine it as belonging to an actual animal. And the "tail" of the "red doe" appears strangely out of place if the back end of the "animal" is in typical alignment (or, it's actually ears of another animal in Grahame's four deer scenario.)

If it is double exposure, why is only one concentrated area colored red and raising the question of double exposure, while the rest of the frame is not giving the impression of double exposure and red imaging? Unless, of course, it is a composite produced in some after-camera post process.

Thx for your continued thoughts on this image. I can assure you that it’s not a composite produced in post processing. The owner of the field cam is not a photography hobbyist. She shared the image with her neighbor, a friend of mine, who knew of my hobby. I’m still awaiting word of any other remaining images on their memory card that could be the culprit.

Have new info to share: The neighbor with the field cam says she sees the red glow often; when they take a picture in color mode. Although sometimes she just sees the red dot.

Also, there is a pile of wood somewhere behind the buck. So maybe the doe was climbing over the wood pile and would appear higher up, and maybe bigger, than the buck? [Would/Could a deer, with thin legs, climb onto a wood pile???]

Still waiting to hear what a perusal of the memory card shows. Thx everyone who has offered ideas!
