Not for everyone, but I found quite a few pictures waiting to be taken at Wall Drugs.
Don't miss CUSTER STATE PARK, it should be a National Park. Buffalo herds, wild Donkeys and beautiful landscapes.
Badlands is interesting and if you find the burrowing owls, they are a photo opportunity. Lots of prairie dogs as well.
You will really enjoy the area, drive safe.
If I understand it correctly, WiFi is used to download files and control some of the newer remote flash units. Bluetooth will allow some of the camera functions to be controlled by an iPhone or other compatible device.
#2 gets my vote, it tells more of a story and adds the reflection of the second barn that is nice.
I preordered from Adorama and will use my D-800 as a backup. My D-800 has right at 100,000 shutter releases so I justified the D-850 as a replacement. I guess my previous backup (D-300) will go to a Grandchild for their learning experience.
In the park, go to mile marker 14 at sunset time, this is where the photograph class is held and the sunset are awesome.
Good suggestions so far. Here are a few more. Custer State Park in s/w South Dakota should be a National Park it is so fabulous. South of Page AZ on your way to Santa Fe you can to Canyon De Chelly (pronounced as D-Shay) National Monument with its 700' sheer cliffs and ancient dwellings.
In Santa Fe, be sure to visit Loretta Chapel, the stair case is legendary. Of course as a photographer, while in Page an afternoon in Antelope Canyon is fun and your pictures will be amazing. Between Kanab and Page is a visitors center at Big Water that tells a fossil story about all of the dinosaurs that once lived in the area. It is a great rest stop on that drive.
Great shot, thanks for posting and the laugh.
The 28x300mm almost never leaves my D800 unless it is replaced by my Sigma 150x600 for wild life.
Love that place. If you get a chance, hike down among the hoodoos, it is a different perspective and very beautiful. Enjoy the park. Where to next - there are so many things to see in that area.
I love the shot and wonder if the water tower added to the photo, since I can't see any of the background that you didn't include. Thanks for posting.
Next time you are there, post some of the wild horse pictures
I have used Photomatix since it came out some years back. I an also testing, with good results, Aurora HDR from Luminar. I like what I see so far from it as well.
I only use it to correct where the f-stops are greater than my camera can capture, then I use it to bring out what would otherwise be dark background.
