Caught this in a field adjacent to my house. It, among a few million others, mostly go unnoticed until they appear in the yard.

Not sure if I've ever seen anyone use the method I use. I cut a small piece of velcro tape and sewed one side to my camera strap and the other side to the lens cap. When I remove the cap from the camera I just stick it to the strap. Has worked well for several years. Never lost a cap yet. Dan

Just wondering...does anyone have any experience with Cambridge World in Queens? I see their ads in magazines and I seem to remember ordering something from them many years ago. I seldom see any reference to them in this forum. Any experiences, good or bad?

I have a Canon 80D which I intend to mate with a Sigma 150-600 Contemporary lens with which to shoot the August 21st solar eclipse. I am torn as to which tripod head to use; ball, pan or gimbal. My tripod is fairly heavy duty and shouldn't have any problems with the weight. However, I'm not sure as to which head would afford the best opportunities for eclipse shooting. Since the eclipse is moving slowly across the sky, I am thinking that my panhead might be best. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks all for the responses. the suggestions were waaay too complicated. All I wanted to do was change the color, not the background, itself. I figures it out in Elements, though. 2 steps and done.

Need some information regarding color changing in Elements 14. I was asked to shoot several groups at a local church. I was not able to provide a backdrop and had to use the existing walls which were this pale icky green. How do I change the background color in Elements? I did this sort of thing several years ago but have not tried it since and have forgotten the steps involved.
Thanks

Just purchased a new desktop PC and had to uninstall LR on the old PC and reinstall on the new PC. Transferred and redid my catalogs as per the older PC. All was good. Then...as I was importing some new shots into LR (both RAW and JPEG duplicates of the same shots) I noticed that as I viewed the images on the SD card prior to importing, the JPG's did not show, almost as if they were not present. After the import, however, all is again good and the JPG's showed up in the proper locations alongside the RAW shots. I've rechecked my settings but cannot decipher what I may have overlooked. This is not an earth shaking issue since the end result was acceptable, but I would like to know the solution. thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I'm just not sure....I have ordered the Tamron 28-300 F3.5-6.3 for my Canon 6D; it should arrive tomorrow via the Big BrownTruck. The lens that I have used most of the time is the Canon L EF 24-105 F4. I ordered the Tamron to replace the Canon lens. To be sure, due to my limited financial status and retirement situation, I saved several months in order to be able to afford the new lens. I had hoped to sell the Canon lens in order to partially defray the cost of the Tammy. I have loved the Canon lens but my hope is that the new Tammy, due to its longer reach, will assist in reducing lens changes as situations dictate. I have several other L lenses and use them all for limited applications. The two lenses may be redundant. Therefore, at the risk of tying up my financial funds needlessly, I need someone to talk me into keeping the L lens or to give me some advice toward selling it. Sounds childish I know, but at age 67 I may be regressing into my second childhood. Thanks in advance for any responses. Dan

Does anyone know anything about this company? They are listed as an alternative supplier on Walmart's photo equipment pages. I've never heard of them. Based on their prices, I suspect they are grey market. Any info?
Thanks

Thanks. Perhaps Mr. Kelby erred as he possibly referred to "all" Canon DSLRs? Sure looks that way. Again, thanks.

In the September issue of Shutterbug magazine Scott Kelby referenced a dial control on Canon cameras as, "On Canon DSLRs, this assignable button is called the setting button(the one in the center of the quick dial)". Supposedly, according ot Scott, by setting this button within the menu, one can quickly check the sharpness of a shot. Well, I have gone over all the menu settings for the button and cannot find the one that he referenced. I know that I am likely overlooking the obvious, but I would appreciate someone setting me straight. Thanks in advance.
