I quit shaving in 1967, but have shaved twice for roles as an actor, growing it back soon after. My wife of 43.5 years prefers my beard and mustache, as do my daughters and granddaughter.

Seems about right for the timeline. I'm 76 and saw the first such images in 1962.

I know it's the camera operator and time and place that make for great images, but no one has asked which body(s) and lenses you used to make these images. Care to share the tech side?

I love my Peak Design carbon fibre tripod. Intelligent design, it's light, stores to a small form factor and is very stable.

Thanks. But, what do you do with all those images after you've captured them?
Where do they go to live out their artistic lives?

When I was shooting film and no longer had my own darkroom, I calculated the cost at about 65ยข per frame, when printed to my preferred size of 5x7." And my photographic business covered that. I was careful to make each frame worth the cost.
Now, despite the fact that the Z8 has a very high still frame rate capture capability, after realizing the cost vs benefit, I'm back to single-frame shooting discipline, as if my digital film was a limited supply of ammunition in combat.
If I get back to shooting theatre and performing arts (my bread and butter for many years), the frame rate will be helpful.

It's not the card but my Mac's storage. The raw files are 52mb each! On the other hand, they look so good, that I'm going to try shooting jpg and see how they meet my expectations for quality.

Jerry, the Z8 is heavier and bulkier than I expected. I did an event shoot last night and then found that the images were so large, that I had to carefully manage my storage to accommodate them, so no more "spray and pray," but deliberate frame, focus and capture.
I look forward to reading your thoughts when it arrives.

I LOVE this "meme!"
FWIW, calling out the perhaps not so obvious . . . I bought my Dx1 in 2001 for $5K USD.
So, $4K today isn't quite so painful realizing that the $5K in 2001 now has buying power of $8,564.74!
I've already upgraded most of my older lens collection to Z lenses for my Z6 and had been saving for a Z7ii.
I'll be ordering my Z8 as soon as the funds are available.

Your shared images are all FABULOUS! I went in 2015 and took the wrong tour. I did get a load of wonderful images but never got around to perfecting them. Time to open in Luminar Neo to see what I can do.
Again, thank you for sharing these wonderful images. I just put this trip back on my bucket list.

I use the DJI Mobile 4 and, while it can get heavy for this old man's hand/wrist/bicep after long use, there's no substitute for me as a filmmaker. My family is taking a fist-ever "vacation" to Disneyworld in December and my Nikon is staying home, replaced by my iPhone 13Pro (14Pro?) and my DJI!
