If you go with the 70mm prime the cost is (used) $300-$400 less. Some think it is better than the 77mm, but some disagree. I feel it's the best lens in my camera bag and would never part with it.

I purchased both of mine used at KEH. Got both for less than one new.

I have both the 40mm and 70mm DA Prime. Not for sale but I do recommend adding both to your collection. You will not be disappointed.

The lighting and composition are both great, but the smile is priceless. Great photo.

I am new the UHH and must say I enjoy reading the posts, at least most of them. I have enjoyed photography since the 70's. I started with a Pentax Super Program back then and now shoot a K5. I stayed with Pentax because I was able to use all my old glass, and just prefer Pentax over Canon or Nikon. Crap I just opened a can of worms there! I know they are all good, it just comes down to personal preference. Looking forward to sharing advice and ideas.
