I believe #3 is a B-17G. IIRC that model is the only one that had a chin current.

I have read that for some reason the MTBF of 3 TB HD's are lower than other capacity drives - more problems - and that it is not dependent on Brand. Don't know if it is an inherent design problem or something else.

I would search on line for a data recovery service and contact them to get your options. One example in Minneapolis is:

I have no experience with them but their site offers a free phone consult.

It's a long shot but possibly the Apple Store might offer some recommendations with a bit of sweet talk and assuring them they are not going to be held responsible - might find a recovery tech doubling as an Apple Clerk!

If you have a local camera store, might see if they have a recommendation.

I would also disconnect the drive in question ASAP and if possible don't use your computer until you get an "OK".

Most recovery companies offer walk-in services, some will let you send the drive to them. Might think of backing up the drive with Super Duper or Carbon Copy Cloner before you do.

I will. After my last post to you I got into what I describe as a loop switching from the "$1,000 Win" to the full page gift cards ad that persisted to the point I left the UHH site. As of this moment, I am NOT receiving either these with this response.

Last couple of days I'm experiencing intermittent ads for Gift cards and "Sign up now, you iPad has been chosen as a possible winner ......." type ads. Do I have a software problem or is UHH trying to get some revenue. I do not get this type of ad on other sites.
