I have a different Sirui tripod so cannot make any first-hand comments on the model you have in mind. Another option (which I also have) is the Heipi tripod, worth checking out.
Much appreciated if you can send the link(s): jtang28288@gmail.com
It's on my bucket list! I hope all goes well, what travel arrangements have you made? TIA
Sorry to hear about your problems. I have one Seagate drive that is going back to them for replacement. I have no issues with the Western Digital drives and will stick to them in the future. I also have cloud backup, so that is a good fallback when the drives fail.
Tripod is useless in the vehicle; you will be using bean bags. A lightweight tripod will be useful for night scapes.
On my trip, I had 2 bodies; D810 w/24-120 and D7200 w/70-200. This combination covered my needs.
I use both Backblaze and Carbonite. Backblaze does not have phone support, just online chat. I recently needed a restore from Backblaze and they helped me go through the process. Have not needed any support from Carbonite as yet, so can't say how their support works.
My wife has the D500 and used to have the Nikon 200-500; her results were very good in terms of focus. No experience with the Tamron or slower lens, but having the extra opening is a plus. Hope this helps.
Using the BenQ SW271 and very satisfied with it.
Wishing you a safe and wonderful safari!
Over Namibia, found that 24-70 and 70-200 zoom lenses (full frame) covered my needs. Have fun!
When I was in a helicopter in Namibia, the 24-70 and 70-200 zooms (full frame) did the job for me.
