Thanks Rob - will do so over the "wires" - Susan is over in the good old UK, while I am trekking down here!

What wonderful falls and spectacular amphitheater shots Joe!!
An excellent set that finished very strong!
Rob

Thanks Rob, these falls are quite spectacular, not by their height, but by the mass of water tumbling down and are very well known, while the Creux du Van amphiteater is quite unknown, I enjoyed them both and am glad to see that you also were enticed by these!

Spectacular scenes that are composed so very well, as usual Joe! I know I'm very late on viewing these last few posts in this mini-series but better late than never, right?!
I especially enjoyed #'s 4 and 8. I am curious about avalanche dangers to the villages like you showed us in 10...? I see lots of trees on the main hillside next to town but the slopes in the back of the image made me wonder if that's an issue in the Alps for the villages tucked into a alpine meadow/plateau...
Rob

Thanks Rob for looking in on the waning posts of my last series - first day or much later, your comments are always very welcome! As far as I know, there is no particular avalanche danger in that specific area, but where there is a combination of steep slopes and snow, I guess that danger always exists. In many avalanche-prone locations the Swiss have installed avalanche barriers to lessen the danger. Glad to hear that you enjoyed these images.

Greetings from Puerto Varas at the shore of Lake Llanquihue in the center of Chile!

Wonderful series, Joe! I wish Susan and yourself a safe and joyous trip!😎

Thank you Eugene - I was very lucky to catch this "brief moment in time" which should remind me of the positive sides of early rising! - maybe one of these years, if not too late, that wisdom will sink in! And thank you also for your kind trip wishes - I am really looking forward to finally get to experience these Chilean extremes, like the Atacama and Rapa Nui!

👍👍 latter ones resemble northern lights

Thanks Dave - I never thought of it that way, but there is a certain resemblance, maybe I should call them my "Eastern Lights", after all I caught them looking east!

Spectacular sunset Joe!

A few years ago I traveled down the Jersey shore to take some shots of the Judge's Shack which is one of the few remaining fishing shanties on the East Coast. The used 28mm Nikkor lens I had purchased stopped auto focusing even though it had worked fine at the start. I was able to salvage a few of the images that weren't too far off using Topaz Sharpen, but the rest were hopeless.

Thanks Bill for your kind words of appreciation! Yes, focus inaccuracies are one of the things we cannot fix in post - at least not yet - but there is always hope for the future!

These are beautiful. Trying to pick a favorite is pretty hard! I don't ever leave the lens on when I send the camera to be cleaned, so all I have to worry about are the camera settings (which are numerous!). Last time I made them promise to not change anything. They still did! I'm sorry the trees now block your beautiful views. At least they're not high-rise apartment buildings!

Thank you very much, Kathy. The trees are actually kind of pretty with their filigrane branch network in the winter, they just bother me in the summer when Mt Baker and most of the mountain chain almost totally disappear. - I never thought of taking the lens off my camera when bringing it in for cleaning and actually cannot quite understand why they have to change the settings when cleaning the sensor.

Well done, you stayed with it and got all of it.

Thank you, Jim, for looking in and your kind comment. Yes, both for sunrises and sunsets, I like to stay with the developing scenes and often find the "after-glow" effects to be just as effective as the main event - particularly of course for the sunsets.

Beautifully done, Joe. Love the views over the neighborhood and the soft focus pair at the end.

Thank you Joe for your kind words - I wondered how that super-soft focus pair would be received!
