There are any number of people that think I'm nuts and for a lot of good reasons but I think the 57 Chevy is the most beautiful car ever made in the US.

There, add that to the list of reasons - I'm ok with it.

I'm attaching a link to a youtube video in which Devin from Smarter Everyday goes to Finland to a camera store that refurbs old film cameras.

Sounds simple enough but the story is much more complicated than that - they talk about the future of film photography, availability of parts (nobody is making new film cameras), etc.

What books have been stripped from the libraries that someone didn't like?

Good Lord .... After reviewing the images you posted I think I'll throw my cameras away - not only would I like to have had your travel experiences, once I got there I'd like to think I'd get hit by a lightning bolt and produce images anywhere near these.

Each one better than the last. Hat tip to you.

To me ... the '63 Split-Window Corvette and the '57 Chevy Bel Air 2dr hardtop and the 2 most beautiful cars ever made.

Thanks for the photos - I love 'em.

Sorry to hear of your experience - that said, I have that same lens and it works just fine. I've had it for 4 or 5 years and I'm happy with it.

I'm right there with you - never again on an annual "program". The guy from January said I should actually replace the system - it was new in 2014 - I laughed at him.

I’d at lease get a few quotes, I was quoted $700 for a low ambient switch and checked around and bought the OEM switch for $60 and I will pay a guy $50 to put it in. I had a complete 1 1/2 ton unit with a new gas heater installed for $3600. The $1209 is crazy.

The story is much different today than it was on Monday. The company I use for HVAC ordered a part Monday, came in yesterday, and were to come out today to fix it. When the tech got here today he told me that he had been on the phone with the mfg and wanted to run more tests before he installed the new valve.

Turns out the low voltage system was incorrectly wired at both the furnace end and the outside unit end. Interestingly it all worked fine last summer ..... When the unit calls for 'cool' the heating circuit is turned on and when it calls for heat, the heating unit is turned on.....

We had a different company here back in January for our 'winter checkup'. I'll get to the punch line - it worked fine last summer, we had our winter check up and last week when I tried to turn on the AC I got heat instead - because it was wired wrong ..... What you're missing in this story is the used car salesman from the 'winter checkup' company may have been one of the slimiest characters that's ever been in my house. I cancelled our agreement with them 30 minutes after he left back in January because I knew he was a con man.

I'm at a point that I can't prove any of this because it's been fixed and there'd be nothing but finger pointing if I pursued it.

Today's visit with repair (and 3 lbs of refrigerant) was $315 - so, I'm good.

Reversal valve (I think that is what they called it) on our heat pump - coincidently, $1,209.42

I found this entry interesting. It is a good example of how while a photograph may not lie, it doesn't necessarily tell the who story. I would like to share some excerpts from her obituary which I got from Findagrave.
"Compassionate and generous with opinions, candid in speech and action, if you met her, she left an impression and always knew how she felt and where she stood. Cindy was humorous and witty, intelligent and an avid reader of mystery murder novels. She enjoyed cooking gourmet meals for friends and family"
"...
I found this entry interesting. It is a good exam... (show quote)

When I saw the picture I thought it represented more what the obit says than anything else. My daughter-in-law is a very quiet, shy, kind person and would LOVE this headstone. She simply likes all that 'emo' stuff.

Interesting how one's frame of reference affects their interpretation of a photo.

Beautiful shot! Gnaw Bone is nice too! I have friends that live in Story, IN.

I'm embarrassed to say this but I just read your comment .... You (and JayMatt) figured out the name/location, although I no longer live there - moved to Columbus (8 or so miles east) about 2 years ago.

I have a pic somewhere that I occasionally get out and fire up Photoshop to remove more people/wires/signs etc near the general store / restaurant in beautiful "downtown" Story. Story is one of those places that is emblematic of Southern Indiana - in 10 minutes you can be away from .... I'll be nice .... the hectic world of modern America.

Thanks to all for the kind comments and sorry I forgot (too many birthdays cause things like that) to come back and check this after I posted it.

Do you watch, or have you watched, The Office - English or American? About a week ago, I thought I'd give it a try, starting with the first episode. I find it very funny. When I finish all nine seasons, I'll look for the English version.

How/where will you be watching the English version - Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu ....???

I've owned 2 Tamron lenses in the last 3 years and returned then both because of slow or non-existent focusing - one was the lens you're referring to. I'm done with Tamron. On my Nikon I use either Nikon or Sigma lenses and that's it.
