Nope, I don't need no stinkin' mirrorless camera and I fer sure don't need no stinkin' full frame. I don't even shoot raw. But they kept it up, they kept showing me stuff till the rationalizer kicked in and my tiny rat brain went to work. What if I get a really good deal on a camera that I really, really want where I can get away with my present lenses for some time to come with no further expense and it will do everything my D7500 and my Z50 will do combined, plus have room for more tricks later if I want to learn them? The pressure was too much. Z7ii on the way. I don't even have the camera yet and I already spent $70 on a memory card (and that was on sale!) and as soon as I get the body to make sure all is well, another $50 or so for a card reader since my old one has no CFExpress type B slot. Might just need another dedicated monopod and maybe a ball head. So much for no further expenses... ah, but then I'll be a really, really great photographer, right? (Did I tell you about the 180-600 they keep showing me?) šŸ˜

Eventually ā€œwantsā€ develop into ā€œneedsā€. Stuff happens. Ask me about the 75 inch QLED TV I just ā€œneededā€ and bought. Now I need to suppress my urge for the just released Fujifilm X100VI that is being advertised (I did not place an order for this!). Enjoy your new Z7II!

Just this morning I was made aware that the new Fuji X100VI is going to be released 2/28/24.

Priced at $1599 in black or silver. I am very interested, as I wanted a new X100V for some time, but never could find it new.

Great news. Maybe now this will help reduce the prices of the used x100 F & V models so I can finally afford one.

Attempting to go from Nikon D7200 to Nikon Z6 and totally confused about what Iā€™ve been told. Person at Photo shop says i absolutely cannot use my current Nikon DX lens on the Z6. Others say i can use them with the Z mount attachment but i will lose resolution and it will be cropped differently. So, whatā€™s the truth?

You can use those lenses on the Z6, but only with the Ftz adapter. The Z6 is a full frame camera, your D7200 is not. The result will be the same as putting a DX lens on ax FX body. There are probably more technical answers and I do not consider myself expert enough to offer that advice.

Two nights ago I did a gig at a Chamber of Commerce event at a very high end community center. I was hired by the chamber, as was a social media guy, and a video guy. There was also an independent person taking photos. What we all had in common (and this has never happened before!) was we were all using Sony equipment. Now I know this will ruffle the gentle feathers of so many on this blog, but the reality is that market share is everything, and I as a Sony shooter am even amazed at how much is changing in the professional sphere. Years ago it was rare to find a pro shooting Sony, and now it seems that we are the majority. For there to be four image makers at an event and all of them using Sony had me pretty shocked. People vote with their feet and their money, and the other brands have to be on notice to up their game.

Why are you selling?
Do you have the box?

I have the box that it was shipped in. It originally came as a kit with a 16-50 kit lens, which was not included as my purchase was as an open box item so the box was marked accordingly. The only reason I am selling it is because I have my eye on the new ZF and want to use this to help offset the purchase cost.

GREAT NEWS!

A year and a half ago I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. After three operations and treatment (and six months out from the last operation) I went in today for a checkup. As of now, I am cancer free. I had been dreading this appointment.

What a great way to start the New Year. Praise the Lord.

Great news. Praise God!

I do realize that this is not an S lens but would like your thoughts on it. It is on sale for $899.95 on the Nikon site. regularly $1199.95 for a savings of $300. I have the Tamron 24-70 F2.8 and can use it on my Z6ii with an adapter. There is a lot of difference in weight between using the Tamron with the adapter an just using the Nikon Z lens. Yes I do realize I am loosing 4mm on the wide end but it would be much lighter. I and researching trying to see what the quality difference would be between the two. I will always have the Tamron if I need the extra width. I have been doing research on this so I don't need to be called lazy for asking here for your input. If you have any HELPFUL information to add please reply. Thanks, Grandpaw

I suggest you read Thom Hoganā€™s review on his Sans Mirror site. I think he said it was a good option if it can be found on sale. I think his reviews are fair. I own one and have been satisfied with the results it has given me. I am just a hobbyist who is still learning.

I would like to get $800 for this excellent camera.

Shipping is $17. If you live close to Lincoln, NE, we could meet somewhere public.

Iā€™m selling it because Iā€™ve upgraded to the Z7ii.

Shoot me a private message if interested or have an offer.

Great deal on a great camera. Good luck with your sale!

They're entry-level models. If memory serves, the D3300 and D3400 models featured 'modern' 24MP DX sensor. Rockwell claimed these models have all the technology the general public would ever need in a DSLR. But, there's a glut of these DSLRs across both Nikon and Canon and they cannot hold their value when resold used. But otherwise, they're perfectly 'good', just discontinued.

Exactly. That plus the focus on mirrorless sales now have people moving to that style, especially since Canon, Fiji, Nikon and Sony have great deals on mirrorless so people are jumping in.

My son in law still creates great images with his D3200. Nothing wrong at all with DSLR cameras and lenses.

Recently retired with a disability. Got some horrific health news last month. Rather than sit around we are traveling.
Need help purchasing a new camera capable of supporting my love of street and landscape photography.
Criteria: 1. Has to be budget friendlyā€¦not lowest and not highest $. 2. Travel friendly meaning light weight and durable 3. Thinking Iā€™d like the camera body then 2 lensā€¦one for street and one to assist with more reach in landscape. 4. Not really into video capabilities. 5. Must have a viewfinder. 6. I have an iPhone 14 pro which works great until it doesnā€™t in bright light when you canā€™t see the screen.
Iā€™m used to low end Nikon DSLRs in the 500 series and canon better point and shoot. My skill level is mid level amateur with on going love to learn more. My existing equipment is beat hence the need to buy something newer.
My goal is to document our travels. I love making Blurb books so the photos are for documenting our travels for the grandkids. I do frame some pictures so definitely capturing quality images is a must.
I have major surgery this coming week and Iā€™m hoping your help will get me motivated to heal more quickly. As soon as Iā€™m cleared we are going until the money wears out or I do.
Sorry if I will not be able to respond to your questions. Hopefully Iā€™ve given you enough to help. I love this site and you all are incredibly giving people. Thank you for all the good tips over the years.
Donā€™t put off that big trip and forget about the $. I want to see the things I have put off for way too long.
