I do contract work for a company that requires it. I bought a used D5300 just for them as it was the only Nikon I could find that had GPS.

I have a great deal invested in my cameras and my lenses. To go mirror less, I would have to reinvest in a bunch of other stuff. Therefore, mirrors are better, for me.

Dave is right, the lens at 5.6 will not give good bokeh. Try a 50mm 1.4, rent it, and you will see a real difference.

I do real estate photography for many different people and two have a requirement for GPS. I found the best option with a used D5300, the only Nikon I could find with a built in GPS.

When I retired, we started to go on trips we had always wanted to take. Naturally my first thought of a trip is what pictures I can take. We have been to Asheville and Nashville, NC, Savannah.Ga, Charleston, SC, Paris and I am increasing the cameras and lenses that I had. I have a new wide angle, a 28MM, and I take my 850 and my DF wherever we go,

I don't think that Nikon is listening to it's photographers, both pro and consumer. The DF, and I have one, was never the camera it should have been and we all hoped it would be replaced with the one we wanted. It is a good camera but not the great one it could have been. The z's need better autofocus, better buffer speeds, 2 card slots and a lower price to really hit the market. They should certainly be lower than Sony's to get into a market they have ignored for 3-4 years. They have lost all sense of marketing which may be the Japanese and may be just Nikon.

As i have said, I have a 850, a D5 and a DF and I don't want a camera with worse AF, that is silent and lighter. I have no problem with the noise level currently and I am strong enough to carry what I want and need.

The issue is that Nikon needed to hit it out of the park and blow Sony away. They didn't. They didn't with the DF and they didn't with the Z's. They have had 3 or 4 years to see what is going on in the industry, what the criticism from the pro's has been and they did not listen.

problems I have read include the fact the lenses for the Z's are cheap consumer types and not professional which seems to be a bad decision. One card slot is not what the market wants today. I want an adapter that will give me all the benefits I get with my DF and my 850 and my D5. It supposedly has great video capabilities to which I say woopee, or is that hooeee. I don't do video and when I do I use my point and shoot Leica.

I, for one, am not bothered by the noise of my DSLR's. I like the AF, the BB focus, the lenses I have been collecting since the 60's and the image. And I don't find any of my cameras too heavy. So the concept is not speaking to me.

Seems to me that after the first time, one would double and tripe check. But that is just me

The reason that pinhole pictures and old 30's type B&W pics look so good is that the world looked different back then. I live in downtown Atlanta and many of the neighborhoods I go thru are so pristine and manicured, there are no good opportunities. But when I go 30 miles outside the city, I find old house, barns, trees, fields and things that turn me on to taking pictures again. I used to work near Lake Lanier and found many places there that just cried out for some experimentation.
