Nice!
Abandoned homes and community buildings, are often, trying to share their stories of the generations that “were just passing through history”!

I totally agree. And those finds are even richer when they're a surprise.
Thanks

Fun set. I wonder if the churches are still open

Everything in the town looked deserted. But two of the churches (there were 4 total) looked like they'd had a recent coat of paint.

Gallery or christian section.

HDR wannabe, pushed way too far to be 'arresting'.

You're right, but just a tad arrogant. So I tried to make a cell phone do what my normal rig would produce. So what? Thanks

are you looking for critique or just displaying the photos for interest purposes?

If you want to state the obvious, be my guest. But I already copped to the use of my iPhone which I pushed a little too far to get the visual effect I was seeing. I'm gonna go back soon with my gear because there are really some treasures to capture. Thanks

What town was that? I’d like to visit there myself. Nice shots!

Mulberry, just southwest of Lynchburg on SR 50. The town is almost 250 years old and now is practically deserted. There are maybe another dozen or so structures around the "square" including 4 other historic (but dilapidated) churches in close proximity.
It's certainly worth a visit.

On our way to a small town, in the southern part of middle Tennessee, to pick out (yes, you guessed it!) our cemetery grave stones, we made a pass thru the town "square" and I managed a few shots with my trusty cell phone.

Mark, every now and then, if we're fortunate, we see a lovely child who seems to telegraph what sort of individual she will be in her later years and voila! she is your granddaughter. Congratulations.

Whenever i had a camera up to my eye, she would find me, even from an early age. She was 8 in the B&W image and is now almost 24.
Of course I love her! Wouldn't you?

Thanks for viewing.
Mark

Yup, you're right: I love her but dang it, I'm almost 4 X her age. I'm gonna take the high road: tell her I'm busy.

KT,
What a classy classic. I can't imagine how many hours the owner (you?) put into it. Wonderful, unique color with a great vibe. Thanks for sharing.

Johnny and I arose early to drive 200 miles and arrive on location by 0800. The Ft Lauderdale area had serious flooding at critical nesting time this year and I'm afraid most of the pairs lost their eggs or chicks. We only found one burrow with owlets and and didn't discovered that until high noon on a cloudless day -- so deep shadows and reflections plagued our photography in the open fields.

These small owls stand about nine inches tall. With them it's all about the eyes. They have the most incredible large yellow eyes and large black pupils. Please enjoy the downloads.

Exceptional images. Do the owls always seem so alert, so seemingly eager to pose?
Thanks for sharing.
