Tours prohibit tripods- except perhaps true “photo tours”. Many of which provide fixed tripods on boats or special suvs.

The Rx10 iv is still a large camera. I have used Canon DSLRs and wanted smaller camera without sacrificing range. The lumix zs80d is remarkable. 20mp , 30x leica zoom , viewfinder and screen and easily fits in a pocket. Full function options. Look and compare. Enlarge 8x20- 13x19

Take a look at LUMIX zs 80d. 24-720 zoom and very sharp to full zoom under $500.

Hi!
First post here!
I am visiting the Holy Land in July. I am thinking of getting a point and shoot. I presently have a Nikon Z7 for my landscape and inner church photography and D500 for my wildlife. But at 68, I’m thinking I would like to travel light and not worry about my gear.
Any suggestions on a point and shoot camera would be appreciated. I do shoot in raw and understand I need something that can handle low light situations. I am an enthusiast, but my images won’t need to be printed in large format. I am looking at the Coolpix p1000? But am open to other manufacturers. Used purchasing always works best for me.
I am so excited for the trip…heat and all!! Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I used the Tamron 18-400 and it covered everything. Beautiful results and light weight carry. Enjoy!

I have the 8940. Desktop is less pricey than laptop. Great performance and service.

One of our best trips. You will never need a tripod or super tele. I would highly recommend an underwater camera if snorkeling is included. We were in the water hours every day and great opportunity, I used a Nikon coolpix 100, newer model 300.

Agree with the Peak Design line of equipment. Excellent and allows you to quickly interchange cameras if using 2. Found it invaluable is Africa with a wide angle on one body and tele on another. Not able to change lenses out there.

Nice to hear about good customer service

Agree with Bay Photo comments. I recently ordered 2 18x27" canvas prints from Canvaschamps and one came wrinkled. They replaced it and it was framed wrong. They sent a third that was perfect - they even agreed to flip it r to l. All this done in less than a week each time. I have used them for years and they really stand behind their product - no arguments on replacement. Also produce excellent metallic prints.

I love the 80d. Still use myt5i as second body. Very helpful in Africa to avoid lense changes. You might look at the 90d as well.

i have been using the Peak Design lite strap as a sling and the clutch on camera to hold while walking. Sling doesn't slip and very easy to hold the clutch - usually with Canon 80d and Tamron 18-400. Well priced and the Peak Design is an interchangeable system.

Same for me. Tamron 18-400 on canon 80d. Very light and great coverage. Enlarging to 16x19 no trouble.

We did a river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest. 18-135 should be fine for most but I found my Tamron 18-400 a great all purpose lens and was able to get great shots from the ship. Fewer lenses the better. Enjoy.

You get very close. Sometimes too close. We had to move away from baby fur seals on the beach as they tried to play with us and not allowed to touch them. 18-200/300 should be more than adequate. Enjoy. Be sure to snorkel or scuba and get a water proof point and shoot for great close ups. Seals come right up to you .

I am going to stay with my canon 18-135 walk around. Still love the Tamron 18-400 for light weight and long reach (see attached, Canon 80D, T 18-400 @ 227mm, f/8, 1/250. iso800) Great results on trips to South Pacific and S Africa before covid. Thanks for all the feedback
