I have a stroboframe that is a slight different design. Mine was used with a 645 (medium format, I'll see if I can find a picture of it and send.

I just bought a used Rode SVM on eBay for around $100 for this purpose. I plan to use a boom pole and record a stock library of natural sounds on a recorder, in addition to using it on camera. It also comes with a shock mount of sorts.

Are you interested in trading for something? Anything? I probably should be looking for a carbon fiber for the weight, but I appreciate the Gitzo's.

I like the "anchoring to bedrock" analogy, you can also hang a sandbag to the bottom of the center column for extra stability. BTW, I have a Gitzo 505 Studux I will be selling. I had used it to support a 25lb video camera without any problems.

Need help to ID this tree. Looks like some kind of pine. I have seen it in two different locations in MD. One in central MD near Jacksonville and the other near the bay in Havre de Grace. Can't find it in my books, Help. Tree is good sized at about 25' tall not a dwarf type oa a bush. Thanks.

Maybe get a macro shot of the leaves and bark. Call your local County extension and ask for Master Gardner Hotline, emailing them the pictures. Almost looks like a Bald Cyprus. Let us know what it turns out to be please.

Thank you. While I am still grieving, I think it is a natural process because you never forget a soulmate. The UGH is a great community where everyone offers to help, whether in photography, or otherwise. I am sorry for your loss as well.
