Thanks! What helped a little is that the humidity has been low here in S. Florida so I didn't have to deal with all the moisture in the air diffracting the light.

Moon 1 would be nice as a smile on a face, both good pictures.

Funny how I didn't see the smile until you mentioned it! But now that you did, that's all I see. LOL

I've seen a lot of fine posts of the moon and I thought I'd add my two cents.

The first one was taken this past Tuesday with a Canon SX50. The moon was just hanging there in the western sky. I shot it on full auto and did no PP on it.

The second one of the full moon was taken almost a year ago with the same camera. Again, on full auto. I did tweak it a little in Lightroom just to give it a little different look.

Hope you enjoy them!

Anyone who's been to Jones Beach, or any of the beaches along Fire Island, knows that in the winter it's stark and gray and desolate.

My vote is for the black and white.

Railfans have been fighting this for a number of years, not so much with the railroads but with local law enforcement. In almost every case the courts have dismissed any charges.

Good article and a lot of good tips.

Great photos. No wonder Darwin was intrigued by these islands and spent so much time there.

How could you NOT avoid stepping on one of these, they're huge!!

Thanks for sharing!

I had been sick for quite some time & my husband would take me out on the weekends so I could get out & enjoy the scenery -maybe even see an Eagle or something that caught my eye to take a picture of.

I had this as my screen saver on my computer at work when my mom popped in & went crazy over this. (I didn't think it was all that but since she seemed to like it & even mentioned about having it on her wall) I decided to do something special for her.

I asked my husband if he would make the frame, I also had it matted. We gave it to her on Christmas. She love it - which I'm glad, since it ended up being quite huge. I think the overall specs on it was 26x30. (I was pretty nervous, as I had never done anything like this before.)

The shot on the wall is just from a cell phone, but it gives you an idea of what it looks like, hanging up.

Would love to hear your thoughts.....

Have you ever noticed that owls never smile when you take their picture?

Nice shot. The eyes do say it all.

The reflection is what caught my eye first. I didn't even give the screen a second thought. I was more focused on getting the reflection the way I wanted it. The camera did the rest with the screen, and the dirty window!

The window screen adds a neat texture and look to it. Love the light and the reflection of the flower.

Walked into the kitchen this morning for coffee and "saw" this picture. BEFORE coffee! Is that sad or what? You guys have got me "seeing" pictures now.

Anyway, what may appear to be noise in the picture is actually my dirty kitchen window. I'm keeping this shot from my wife because if she saw how dirty the window is, and the fact that I just posted it, I'd be out there tomorrow (and before coffee too) cleaning it.

Enjoy!
