Puts the (Texas) Horned Lizard to shame!
"Thanks for the memories..." My days at Dartmouth, '59-'61, included some time at Squam Lake. Nothing quite like it around Dallas, Texas.
Although I'm a Mac user, I've always had good luck with Canon inkjet printers with Canon inks. Yes, it's expensive to buy their inks, but I'm satisfied with the results most of the time. Mainly I'm satisfied with the fact that they work, time after time. I currently have a TS8220, but started using Canon when Mac quit mfg. the Stylewriter line - a long time ago.
He's one of the best at it, too.
Mac user here: I use Photos most of the time, but have Photoshop Elements when I want to do more with a particular shot. Like others here, all photo files are loaded into Photos and organized. It's easy to move a particular file (copy) into PSE for further work.
Beautiful car - AND - with what looks like factory air. Rare!
My grandmother had a '51 Roadmaster like this; I don't think it had power steering. At about 4'11", how she managed to drive that car I'll never know. As a teenage driver, it wasn't easy for me, either. I'd love to have that car now!
Congratulations. 58 years for us as of 8/31. (We really were just children...)
Someone's done a bit of work on this one. The '55s didn't come with a 4 speed, only three on the tree (or Hydramatic) and the brake/clutch pedals were through the floorboard, not suspended.
That said, and having had a 55 Bel Air, the 55 Pontiac would be my second choice.
Any more pictures of this one?
Ira Gershwin: "Who could ask for anything more?"
Had a '58 and a '62 Impala. Wish I had either of them now! Thanks for sharing the photos and information.
Here in Dallas we see & hear many more whitewings than mourning doves. I understand they're more aggressive and have just run much of the smaller mourning doves out of town. Growing up, you had to go to the Valley if you wanted to hunt whitewings.
I'm somewhere in between, having graduated HS in 1959. I was, and still am, a certified car nut. (Note my avatar.) Owned a '55 Bel Air, a '58 Impala, and others after that. Having been a Hemmings subscriber for years, I recognized the source of this article after the first few words. Thanks for sharing with all the UHH car guys!
I grew up in SA and used to see these in our back yard. Spending much of their time on the ground looking for seeds, etc, they also enjoyed finding a dusty spot in our driveway where they would rattle around, getting rid of mites, other pests, etc. The mature birds have a tan color. Great picture!
And, for the MOPAR fans......
