I think I am going to get some flack from this approach. I recently switched my kit and sold some of my Sony stuff.
Fuji camera's seem perfect to make photo illustration and play with efx that create in the camera. Their support and publish things that are really interesting constantly me. Never saw that from Nikon or Sony.
Ok I have had camera's for years. Mostly Nikon. I have an attitude to cut to the chase. The Fuji is very different
in it's layout and format approach. So I get it just the approach where I can take a photos and video. Then I start to shoot take the camera anywhere I am going. Trial and error with the film emulation and some of the efx you can get has been very rewarding. I am still learning the 2 bodies I bought on sale. I have made mistakes and sometimes come up with the beginning of a new approach. Creative. I look in the manual if stuck. And the best learning is the really good people on youtube that post great startups or best way use the gear. I do video and research says
almost everything will be in recording form to learn of setup a lawnmower for a Fuji camera.
Good luck. T

Yes! Pentax Spotmatic, U.S. version (match-needle)-35mm with standard 50mm lens and additional 135mm lens! Still works, however exposure button loosened and fell off.

There was something satisfying knowing it was possible to see (by meter-needle position in viewfinder) how much relative over-or-under exposure would be available, and adjust for the ev’s desired in specific locations in the scene.

Served me well until Nikon F1, then Canon Pellical (Sp?) and subsequent mostly-Canon gear. (Except for Combat Graphlex, Speed Graphic, Bronica S-2, Nikonos II, some early German folders, and pocket digitals. OH, and several digital microscope cameras).

I think the “Dream” would be a Linhof 4 X 5 view with a digital back and a few lenses. Just for perspective control. DREAM BIG!

Wow Wyantry this is the first time I have heard the camera Spotmatic in this forum.
The photo that is on my brochure (I do content marketing and video production) is from the Pentax Spotmatic
from the streets of NY. The shot is over 50 years old. I did PS since then. One of the few things I have posted in this forum this photo got a great deal of attention. Your hi tech photography gear is very impressive. Stay safe.

The little I have seen of Northrup he is OK. And a number of gentlemen I respect in posts are playing around.
The world of Nikon (My favorite camera's for years) I never bought from the gray market didnt want to play
games to save some money. Tempting at times. The lack of a warranty was not a good idea..

- In all the years I have only sent out for repairs and it was Nikon D800's.
-Ken Rockwell was rock solid for me with quick look at gear.
I don't think that personal attacks on each other is good.
But that seems to be the way of the world today.
One only has to look at the news and socialy networking to
see a place where "anger management" would work.
Stay safe my friends.

I just think she should have two lens. Trying to have a do it all even long distances doesn't work.
The 55mm zeiss which I have is a great lens. It is limited to moving around. And creating your shot.
The 24 70mm is a good lens. Not cheap. The G lens are pricey. I had the 70 to 200 older zoom and
found out is was terrific. I found out shooting with it what it can so. Don't look at the reviews.
Good luck. Passing image making to others is a gift. i just loaned my granddaughter my RX100 Mark 4
the small wonder just great camera for work she is doing in school. Good luck.

I am aware of the film movement of today. Film lovers are great but with today's tools and options well-
and their is a romance in film. I have just started with Fujifilm camera's and lens. My X-T3 has ten film simulations
built in the camera. For stills and video. And many adjustments for what the shots with look like. The Fuji system
has brought my creative passion back. I shoot with no lens hoods to play with flare. the effect in the camera are way superior to Canon's and Sony (I have Sony gear) It encourages me to shoot for creativity. colors, light leaks street photography something I have not done since I was young in NY. I was watching an old Cinemascope movie recently and i enjoyed the footage but it really was not so great. Wide Screen and good movie.
I have been practicing painting with the camera, over exposure, color fades and efx. Enjoy film I am enjoying
the art of photography trying to tell a story or efx that engaging myself and the viewer. Good luck.

I have a few thoughts about this camera. i bought the RX10 3 (with the 24 600 zoom lens.
Of all the camera's I have owned this camera (I am sure the 4 is even better) was the most amazing.
(I regret selling it to fund gear kit Fuji). I am sure and some here mentioned watching videos o youtube
with help. And the book if you prefer.
Some things I did with it. The lens is amazing. My son was a special guest at a seminar in FL college auditorium.
He said Dad don't wander around the theater auditorium. So I shot from front row seat. CU's presenters
the moderator at a podium the audience. Isolating speakers in discussion on stage couch. turned and picked
up audience reactions. The reviews were picky. Low light no problem. Sitting on deck in restuarant shooting
video and stills of a surfer machine with athletic guy showing off. Ground level shooting of my grandsons
playing soccer. Tough project. follow focus very good if not manual. I owned a lot of Sony camera's from the a7sII
to the a6300 and the small metal gem you can hold in the palm of your hand the RX100. Yes Sony literature is crap.
But their innovation like this camera series is just amazing. Enjoy it. I love the look of the video and stills on automatic. Good luck

I am overwhelmed with the great compliments and reflections like "the people don't look happy" which I didnt really notice. Tech note, no photoshop to match color and improve b&w. What I really feel great about is I have been trying as of late to be a street doc type shooter with my new Fuji gear. The camera was not that expensive LEICA DIGILUX 2 kind of a portable Leica at low price point. One other point is in 2004 I didnt know about "micro contrast" and only learned about it a few months ago. Thanks for making me feel good. Stay safe.

PS one of my goals (I still go some paid work not much mostly video) was to tell a story.
And the stories in the background of the theater of life. I only hoped the guy arm on beach
would have noticed the attractive blonde gal on the bench.

This is 2004 with a Leica in Positano, Italy. The world is changing I can only imagine many of these people on their cell phones for the summer vacation. I was looking through my photos file and wanted to share these Italians on the summer vacation.

I've been watching camera reviews and comparisons on YouTube, and I have to be careful. The new cameras sound so good! I especially like comparisons because they point out specific differences between two cameras. So far, I have resisted the urge to buy anything. I still use my D750, Sony a6000, and Fuji X-T30. So far, so good. Unless I find a good excuse to buy something new, I think I'll be safe.

So the question is what do you do with all the lens you accumulated with the great camera's you have?

Wow Jerry a perfect storm of good camera choices. congratulations! I had Nikons
Not so happy with Nikon D800 (wanted to use for video and stills) had two sold them. Bought Sony NEX and loved it.That started a series of Sony's great camera's a6000,6300 a7 series up to the a7s II which I kept. Recently sold some and funded Fuji X-T3 with lens 16 to 80 great holiday price. Then a Fuji S10.And mostly 3rd party cheap lens.
Still have a couple of Nikon lens around. I was working doing some paid work sometimes. That funded my camera crazy. The Fuji kit is just amazing.

I decided years ago that I was through with flying. This was mainly because of price increases and service reductions by the airlines. As time goes on, passengers are another reason why I won't fly again. A passenger on Frontier Airlines was taped to his seat after he groped two flight attendants and punched a third. Imagine being stuck in an aluminum tube people someone like that.

Yes, I know that 99.9% of all passengers behave. But I also know that as soon as I get on a checkout line, the line stops because of problems. Yesterday, I had to cross a local toll bridge, and the automatic EZPass lane was closed. The lane with the guy in the booth wasn't moving. Then it moved very, very slowly. When I got there, the guy was wiping down the whole interior and closing out. Shift change. When the new guy arrived - walking slower than I thought was possible - he had to go through a whole setup procedure. Really, it was comical. Without even looking at me, he detected the EZPass and opened the gate. So, if you think I would have an uneventful flight, guess again.

Jerry I always appreciate your down-to-earth intelligent comments. Yes you are right traveling has become
a dangerous and difficult task which used to be enjoyable. I think the bigger picture here is the violence and mad people that don't know how to behave. It's everywhere. The other day I traveled from the suburbs of Philly to my cousins in Allentown PA. I had a 5 speed Porsche and would call myself a very good driver. I have driven in countries in Europe etc. The drivers on the highway are maniacs. The trucks were risking accidents constantly. I have driven on the german autobahns and that was less scary. And we have macho people who have now developed political personalities and are ready to argue any issue. You are right I don't much travel anymore and I am glad. Stay safe.

EDITED:
Aug 3: "Woman duct-taped to seat after biting flight attendant, trying to open plane’s door, airline says."
July 11: "A woman was physically restrained to her chair with strips of duct tape aboard an American Airlines flight, the company says, after she allegedly tried to open the plane’s door while the craft was in flight and assaulted a crew member."

Their is really no walk around lens. It depends on what you will be shooting.
I guess 24 to 70mm would be a start. And what lens F stop. Are you thinking low light
like your in a church in Italy. Recently having switched to a Fuji gear I started
getting a lot of information on lensing. Street photographers on the Fuji's like
23mm, 56mm, 16mm etc. And a small camera and gear so you don't have
people troubles. When I bought my first Fuji XT-3 on big sale it came with
no cost the 16 80mm F4. Great lens but I would really like at least 2.8.
It really is what you want to do. You could start off with a 50mm like the
Sony zeiss 50mm 1.8 great lens. Sold some of Sony gear to buy Fuji rig.
Editorials what seemed prized was a good 35mm lens with like F1.4
I owned an AV company and all of our many camera's was a Nikon
body and a 35mm lens. That was it. Good luck.

I needed a back-up battery for my Nikon Coolpix A1000. Nikon's EN-EL12 battery has been on backorder for months and Nikon can't provide any information as to when they will be back in stock. In desperation I ordered an Everyready battery but that wouldn't take a charge. Based on favorable comments from Hoggers, I then ordered a Wasabi. After fully charging it, I took it for a test drive. After just 48 snaps, it was completely discharged. B&H carries two other brands: Jupio and Watson. Adaroma carries Green Extreme and Power 2000, as well as Jupio. Does anyone have any experience with any of these?

Hi! I have many batteries. Sony cameras, Fuji lately. Wasabi has been my go to 3rd party batteries.
Maybe the trouble isn't the battery. I must have 30-50 wasabi batteries never trouble with any.
Good luck.T

Yes this is an interesting observation. I was doing video production and just me shooting editing
until Covid took what was left. When I was doing bigger corp jobs I would read a DC rental's company
I occasionally worked with what camera's pro's were shooting with. Mostly pro video top of
the line and economical with quality. It was very interesting. With clients what you are
shooting with is a big deal. That has always been the game.
Canon to me was always huge in sports especially quality zoom lens. The white ones.
Sony was first to be big in mirrorless and very low light acquisition. I have has many
a7 comera's last one was a7s II. Their high end is good for pro work.
Now I am building a Fuji kit and have almost funded it with some cash left
from all my Sony gear. Who uses camera's pro, art, National Geo etc. etc.
are interesting. Yes I was a Nikon guy for years and that was great work and fun.
Editorial comments about pro, enthusiast, who uses what is very interesting.
Good luck everyone. Stay safe.

These new focus techniques are great. If someone is running past you their are some
ways to get the shot. News guys use rapid fire shots to get a frame. Focus assist is
fine with me. They new camera's are amazing. In movie and commercial production
the DP uses another person to "focus puller" as he or she is working on the moving shot.
They usually have a wireless device that controls the focus.
And you can find much less cost camera's that can track focus. My Sony's like the 6300
and the a7s II have great focus assist. Don't know if you need animal eye detection
but I seem to remember Sony had human eye detention.
I was talking to the guy who runs my car repair shop. He was a editorial
sports photographer. And had to work hard to get a single frame that was
the money shot. He would have loved to have Sony and Canon technology
Good luck.
