But Bill, don't you know, it's just an "accident"?
I received an announcement from Adorama about this. I'm betting it is going to be another big seller for FujiFilm.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. (AP) — Hal Buell, who led The Associated Press’ photo operations from the darkroom era into the age of digital photography over a four-decade career with the news organization that included 12 Pulitzer Prizes and some of the defining images of the Vietnam War, has died. He was 92.
Buell, who led The Associated Press' photo operations from the darkroom era into the age of digital photography over a four-decade career with the news organization that included 12 Pulitzer Prizes and running some of the defining images of the Vietnam War, has died. Buell died Monday, Jan. 29, 2024, in Sunnyvale, Calif., where his daughter lived, after battling pneumonia. He was 92.
Buell died Monday in Sunnyvale, California, after battling pneumonia, his daughter Barbara Buell said in an email. His final two months were spent with her and her husband, and he died in their home with his daughter at his side.
Colleagues described Buell as a visionary who encouraged photographers to try new ways of covering hard news. As the editor in charge of AP’s photo operations from the late 1960s to the 1990s, he supervised a staff that won a dozen Pulitzers on his watch and he worked in 33 countries, with legendary AP photographers including Eddie Adams, Horst Faas and Nick Ut.

Well I'll answer my own question and share my underwhelming experience with you all.
I was the 2021 grand prize winner of the international DPmag's 'Street Scenes' contest. I looked online for the link but apparently they are belly up now. I won $500 cash prize, a $350 Gura camera bag, Anthropics and Luminar software, an expodisk(a white balance device), a light bender flash bounce thing, and a coffee table book of the winning entries, with mine on the first page.
My winning image was used in their promotions for future contests and graced their website for a year or more.
It was a cool experience. it was a good photo. And that was it. Nobody saw the image and reached out to me for more street scenes, nobody wanted to buy/license it for anything, nobody wanted to hire me because of it.
No sour grapes here, I enjoyed winning and seeing my image used in emails facebook etc and the prizes were a fun thing too of course. But I entered thinking that a win or maybe a top three would garner some attention. Maybe other contests actually do give you a 'bump' somehow, I don't know. I've stopped entering, at least for now.
Well I'll answer my own question and share my unde... (

Wasn't the acknowledgement by a judge or judges that your submitted work was determined to be the best of all those received worth anything to you?
I won a small monetary prize for a street portrait I submitted to a local gallery's juried show. It still makes me feel good about myself and my efforts. That feeling stays with me long after the tangible monetary reward was gone.
You took a very good picture. It garnered recognition and accolades from the contest sponsor. You earned real tangible awards for your effort.
There are hundreds, maybe thousands, of photographers here on UHH who would be over the top thrilled to see their efforts acknowledged like that.

Where were you 6 years ago?
Better question is where will you be on April 8th, 2024?
In 2017, I watched from Oconee County SC, where I currently reside. On April 8th, 2024, I'll be back in my hometown in Jefferson County NY. (if the creek don't rise.)
Totality at two solar eclipses less than 7 years apart! Am I lucky or what?
CNN has coverage of his passing.
He helped change photography.
Spartan Photo Center, Spartanburg SC might be able to assist you. They are a "go to" resource for Manfrotto.

Relatively new Fujifilm X100V that showed the error ! Focus Error. The ! was in red.
Tried to remove it by going thru all the menu's with no luck. Unable to continue shooting or anything
else until the error is removed and not return.
Does anyone have any suggestion, or must I bring it in for service somewhere?
Thank you,
Bart
Did a little research....did you happen to add a filter or lens hood or something similar to the camera?

Checking the manual for my X100F, it says when FOCUS ERROR is displayed it means "Camera malfunction. Turn the camera off and then on again. If the message persists, contact a FujiFilm dealer"
I realize this is an earlier version of your X100V, and it's probably not what you want to hear. Nonetheless, it's from FujiFilm's manual.
Hope it's not too serious a problem.
Bob's b&w landscapes/panoramas were some of the best offered on UHH.
