Is this a focus stack? Is this done with a tilt & shift lens?

The K-1 does a lot of stuff that Canon and Nikon do not. Look up the specs at any reputable photo dealer. I am not a salesman. Checking out the pixel shift and the star tracker will get you started.

Looks like there is a new Pentax K-1 (2) coming out soon. I can hardly wait. My Canon and Nikon gear has been taking second place to the K-1 I bought a couple years ago.

The Pentax marketing was good enough to sell me a K-1. I used Nikons from 1964 to 1974, then I bought into Canons. I still use my Canons and I love the assortment of great lenses I have for them. But, the Pentax camera has features that the Canons don't, features that I really want like switchable low pass filter and tilt-flip screen on full frame camera, and DNG file output. I think Pentax would be vastly more popular if they had the lens selection of Canon. Then you would see much more advertising with the profit money.

Chelsea and Tony Northrup's book ' Photoshop CC Essentials for Photographers' may be what you need. Like you, Northrup does most of his edits and crops in LR and then switches to Photoshop for anything else. It does not go into ACR at all, but covers all of the main PS photography tools like layers, masking, selections etc. The book provides access to 10 hours of accompanying online videos, mentoring forum and downloadable ebook.

I have Northrup's book and I am very happy with it and his approach to photo editing. Kelby and Northrup have different philosophies. I like them both, but Northrup's ideas are a refreshing way to look at things.

I agree. I have never given up my Canon lenses except for some trade-ins on other Canon lenses. However, I did buy a Pentax K-1 and several of their lenses this winter because the K-1 camera has features that no Canon has... features that I really need. I now use the K-1 most of the time. I am keeping my Canons and L series lenses for the times they are the better choice to use. I can't part with those Canon lenses.

Looks like you have some Photoshop work to do. Next time you are taking pictures around water try using a circular polarizer instead of a UV filter. The polarizer will remove a lot of reflection. Just don't overdo it or the water will look black.

Look at the new Pentax K-1 very seriously. I own top of line Canons and Nikons. I use the Pentax except for specific purposes.

I bought a Pentax K1 last week. I normally use Canon 7D2, 5D3, and 5Dsr. However, this K1 is much better for close-up photos taken from low angle. I find myself doing a lot of macro and close-up photography and I wanted something more accommodating than the full frame cameras that Canon has. The moveable LCD screen on the Pentax is mostly what sold me, but pixel shift and astro track influenced me. Of course, the WiFi and GPS were also large in my decision, and the on/off switchable low pass filter was a must have. I still have all my Canon stuff and will use it when it is the better choice for the occasion.
I have a lot of macro lenses for the Canons. I use them more often than other lenses, which I also have lots of. This Pentax only has one macro lens that suits my purpose, that is the 100mm D FA WR. I was a bit skeptical at first but I found it to deliver outstanding images. I still fumble around a lot with the controls because my fingers are Canonized. I have to use external monitors with the Canons, and there is no WiFi control to make it wireless easy. The Pentax solves that problem brilliantly.
If it were not for that one lens (100 D FA WR) I probably would not have invested in the K1. I would have waited for the unknown future when Canon would come out with a FF camera having a moveable LCD monitor, WiFi, GPS, and no AA filter. I am sad that there are so few choices for full frame digital design lenses for the K1. Sigma has some longer focal length macro lenses, I use them on the Canons, but none of them come in a Pentax mount and none of them are weather resistant. It is likewise with other lens makers.

Without giving you the pros and cons of Canon cameras I will answer your question directly. I own and use the 5D3, the 7D2, and the 5DSr. My hope was to trade in either the 5D3 or the 7D2 but I did not. I am keeping all three because each of these cameras has a unique ability that is not present on either of the other two. You will have to sort out exactly what camera capabilities are most important to you and make the difficult decision from there.

Yes. Definitely. I have both Canon types of SLR's and all of my Canon full frame lenses work on the APS-C camera as well.

I had that problem. I increased my RAM from 16Gb to 32Gb and the problem seems to be solved.

How long are people waiting for their new Canon 5DSr nowadays? Anybody who has received their order please tell us the order date vs the received date.

I have both the 7D2 and the 5D3 in order to enjoy the best qualities of each. The 5D3 is superior to the 7D2 in being able to use wide angle lenses to deliver wide angle results, and it has better ISO capabilities with lower noise.
