I found a LOT of birds today ! 8-)

This Tricolor is from a local rookery I found - also in the area are nesting Wood ducks, nesting Pileated WP, nesting GBH, nesting Snowy Egrets, Purple Gallinules ........and no, it is NOT Wakodahatchee !

Canon 1D mark IV, 400 DO, 1.4X III, ISO 1250 shaded light, ( high for this camera and I have no special noise software) from monopod....tomorrow I will use Sony A9 - I need the A9 speed for the Snowies and in-flights !

Thanks to ALL for stopping by and for comment ! .....Larry

These are thru the windows with the OM-1 and 40-150 lens. I believe the younger the magpie, the shorter the tail. The first was supposed to be of the starling but the magpie in the background is a good example of an adult tail. The tail is as long as the bird. The last two show different lengths. Hope you find this tidbit interesting.

pretty birds and interesting info about their tails, barbara!
