It’s not about the subpoena it’s about facing up to his responsibility!

For what is worth, I used to be upset like you when I upgraded my old laptop to “free” Win 10. That was 2016. Now I would not go back. Never. Since that time I have three workstations running Win 10 server. One workstation is an Apple laptop, one workstation is Win 7 (required to keep my slide scanner running. The third is the computer I use most of the time. The server has 6 disks totaling 25 GB. The disks are melded and mirrored. This is important to prevent data loss. Win 10 is not the demon. You may have to relearn how to do somethings. I think Win 10 is so very much better than Win 7.

You still have neutral colors or shades in IR photography so you can set WB in camera. It may take repeated steps changing EV but you can do it.

Go to adobe and download DNG file editor. You can create a camera profile that you can use in ACR to set WB properly. There are a few videos online to walk you through the process. Search YouTube for Jason Odell and IR photography. That video will walk you through all the steps. You can also create an LUT to be included in that camera profile to handle red/blue channel swap but that is another discussion.

I was in the 82nd Airborne. We used to jump Huey’s. It was like stepping off of a dinning room table.

Aurora memory mgt is terrible on a Window machine. I use it as a stand alone and occasionally I have to close PS to free up enough memory. I have 16gb. To me it is worth the inconvenience as the product is exceptional. They best way to use it is create your own presets and then use those exclusively. I have about a dozen or more and I do landscapes only.

I have had this problem over the years. It seems to be a gambit problem. What color space are you using? Imagine that to display your pic properly you needed 12 shades of blue/gray to gray. Your color space has only 8 shades so you can see the limitation inbanding. Try changing color space along with using 16 bit on your images.

As an example, if any of you have an HD tv and view an older movie it will appear in nighttime scenes and the gradient gets blotchy. Your tv has trouble because there is insufficient information to display the scene properly.

The banding is caused by the conversion. As an example I have the same problem in my tv. It is an older tv and will show banding in dark scenes. It is a gambit problem, that is not enough colors to do the transitional gradient across those subtle shade changes.
