Some of the folks here are very misinformed on EVs, electricity, taxes, and renewables. Please educate yourself before making comments. You definitely have a right to your own opinions, but don’t base them on hearsay and/or emotion.
Buy a Tesla or other EV and if your electric rate is reasonable- it's "almost free". I fill up in (northern IL) for about $6, for approximately 300 miles of range. BTW the Model 3 now sells for less than the average car sold in the US. Also no more driving to gas stations. Food for thought, if you're not into EVs that's OK too.
Check out SuperDuper!...it's like Carbon Copy Cloner. Very easy to use and you can boot from it if things get messed up. If your main drive is screwed up- you can copy your backup to the main HD and you are back in business in a few minutes. A life saver. This plus Time Machine makes for a smart combo.
You "Old Guys" are so uniformed! Study up! In less then a decade more than 50% of vehicles sold will be EVs. Change scares people, I get it. Horse & buggy--->ICE automobiles... ICE--->EVs. Enjoy your naysaying while you still have time left.
Most commenters on the EV subject do not own EV's and are misinformed. Too expensive for you...don't buy one.If you have range anxiety ...don't buy one. Do some serious research if you are serious.
