Hi FPou,

Great subject...I guess Mirrorless Cameras are here to stay...although it may be prudent to wait & see further development & advancements...like DSLRs in the early 2000s...but that Panasonic w/Leica lens --- 600mm! is pretty awesome...Cheers, Gerry

Thanks, Len, this is now what I'm thinking...and I hear it's a great lens for the money & for my D7000. Thanks again to you & to all for their import, esp. Oliver......my 'due diligence' is almost over! Cheers, Gerry

Hi Oliver, Thanks for understanding...& for the offer to swap two great lenses. A shame you're on the other side of the globe. I'm not sure that Adorama or B&H in NYC (I'm in CT) will do the same. What's the solution? Cheers, Gerry

Hi all...just got a d7000 & am looking for a great new DX Wide Angle lens for it. My 'old' 17-35mm 2.8 lens is fabulous...but is not compatible with the d7000. Please don't ask what I'm doing with the 17-35 2.8 in the first place...long story boring... Thanks.

I'm happy to hear that; I also believe that the 18-200 is great all-in-one easy & light walking-around glass for a river cruise and European cities. Many thanks!

Hi Imagemeister, Many thanks for the suggest...so do you think that the Tamron SP 1.4x on the 24-120mm f4 work on a Danube River Cruise as well as an 18-200mm on myD7000? Say 'hi' to my friends in Stuart & Mariner Sands! Cheers, Gerry

Hi imagemeister, Thanks...more to think about...trying to bring to Europe only one or two lenses --- now I'm narrowing it down to the 17-35 2.8 wide angle...and trading in the 18-200 and the 24-120 f4 for a 28-300. Can you put a 1.4x on that glass? Thanks again for your thoughts and time!

Hi romanticf16, Thank you for another perspective -- teleconverters don't accommodate all lenses, do they? Btw, it's the AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm 1.4 G ED VR...is this the newer version? It's also a great lens but doesn't get me any closer...but I'd hate to give it up...trading the 18-200 for 28-300 may also make sense, especially on the Danube! Thanks, again for your thoughts & enjoy your day!!

Hi Erv, Thanks so much for your thoughts...it's exactly what I'm thinking...also perhaps to trade in the 17-35mm 2.8 for a 12-24mm f.4 (DX)...as my goal is to have only (2) great lenses: a great wide angle & a good 'walking-around' telephoto...but do you think I still need my 24-120mm f4?...difficult decision...however I will never again trade with Adorama in NYC...last tim they gave me only 50% for a beautiful 105mm 2.8! I should be able to get better value than that...EBay...may ask B&H...thanks again!
